BIRTHDAY BOY
What a fantastic birthday!! Thank you all for the wonderful posts. I had a great day - started off with a nice relaxed breakfast at my favorite LA hotel, The Sunset Marquis. Jen then took me to the specialist sneaker store, Undefeated, and bought me....... you guessed it ........ a pair of Dunks!! A fairly hard to find color combination of dark blue and yellow (known as the Michigan) I have been after a pair of Michigans for a while now, so I had a huge smile on my face when we walked out of there!!
Then I came home and played Vietcong on the PS2 for an hour until it was time to leave to go to the studio. On my way over the canyon, my girl at Gibson (what up Shanon!!!) called me with some great news - I will give you details once I have done this thing next wednesday - and confirmed that Gibson will be making me a white Standard (I have been after this guitar for SO long!!) Another cool birthday treat!!
The afternoon and evening were spent in the Camp Freddy studio with Mike Clink, working on edits and discussing what needs to be done. And then around 8.00pm, Steve Jones arrived to play on one of the tracks on the record. Now you have to understand that Jonesy is the reason I started playing in the first place. So my birthday was topped off rather nicely ....... watching him play my Black CF Custom on one of our album tracks!! Very cool. That guy just plays the guitar in such a physical, no bullshit way, and really does make the strings bend and sing in his own way. I loved it - thanks Steve. And thanks Jay for rocking The Pistols in the gym - great workout music if you ask me!!!
FlamingHeart - Great birthday suit pic!! Maybe I should put a real 'Billy in his birthday suit' pic up here ...... I am sure there's a few of me like that floating around somewhere!!!
Acacia - Have fun with the free sushi - I went to a Grammy 'watching' party once. Didnt watch one minute of the show. Spent all my time there eating the chocolate cookies!!
Julia - Have a wonderful time in La Francais (thats probably wrong, I know!! The only thing I remember from French class is ..... dans mon jardin, Il'ya quelca fleurs et des arbres!!!! Anyway, have a great time and watch out for the garlic!
Sandy B - AQUARIANS baby!!!!
I am awake pretty early as Malcolm Dome from www.totalrock.com will be calling me in a little while to do a live interview with me. I love Malcolm - he supported Stimulator back in the day and wrote some great reviews for us. So I will enjoy chatting with him. Tune in at 5.30pm UK time (9.30am US West Coast time if you wanna get online in the US) I should really drink another vat of coffee before he calls otherwise it'll be all one word answers!! Thats pretty much it for today - I'm gonna go see Kid Rock at the LA House Of Blues tonight. That'll be a cool show. Thank you all again SO MUCH for all the birthday wishes and cards that I received. I mean it when I say you guys made my day. Back tomorrow.
Peace
Billy

Hey Billy,
Glad to hear you had such a great birthday. I can't take all the credit for the 'birthday suit'. While it was me who got the ball rolling, Electric Mayhem is the one who did all the work. I LOVE that hat. ;-)
Just about to tune into Totalrock to listen to the interview...oh wait...you're ON!
Gotta go!

Billy~Great interview on totalrock.
You did well son, you did well. That DJ is a very good interviewer. Good questions, he let you talk, nice guy.
You sounded great too. More English than on CFR. (Giving you the rundown here)
And very organised and together.
Nice to hear you chat about all you're doing.
Doheny~UK this year?!! :D
More interviews Billy, more interviews!!!
I really enjoyed that. And "Drive Me" sounded great on the radio. It's a winner.
Love and hugs
Lisa
ps. Glad you had a good birthday.

Billy,
Making music with Jonesy on your birthday, now that's pretty damn cool.
Speaking of Jonesy, is he still pissy with Gibson about the lack of support over the years? If I'm not mistaken, he's got a relationship with Fernandez, correct?
Thank you,
Jay

Leaving in a matter of hours...I will have a great time en France, thanks for the well wishes, Billy! I see you don't remember much from class. I'll see if I can find something that screams Billy Morrison...hope you had a great birthday!

Watching the 'The Brits 2005~The Stars Arrive".
It's quite low key, which is refreshing.
Billy~Word is Robbie Williams is performing.
(I think, if I am interpreting all yapping this properly)
And back to the red carpet...

Glad the studio seems to be going swimmingly. I can't imagine the feeling of seeing one of your early inspirations playing on your record with your own guitar. Fantastic!
Picture of you in your birthday suit? Let's just say I wouldn't mind seeing that...
Cheers for lovely birthdays!

Billy,
Sounds like you had an insane birthday.
You and Jen have big plans for the 14th? You and Dave should give the listeners Valentines Day tips this Saturday.
Chase,
Thanks for doing that for us. Very cool of you.

Glad you had a nice birthday Billy. Everyone deserves it. And I agree, AQUARIAN'S rule, my bday was last saturday. I have a theory, want to hear it? Great, my theory is that all the other signs are jealous of Aquarius because it has it's own song. ;b
Lisa, the britt awards were on CBC here in canada tonight so I watched. Now I'm don't want to cause any tiffs or anything, but from all the writeups and stuff about Franz Ferdinand, I was terribly disappointed in their performance, didn't think it was all that great. And who was that band who performed after them, they were even worse. Course my fav performances were Green Day, Robbie Williams, whoever the band was who performed right after robbie, were good, I liked them, and of course Bob Geldolf. Sang one of my fav songs, I Don't Like Mondays.
Thanks Chase for putting up Billy's interview so I got to hear it after all. ;)
Well 1 day left of IT training and then it's back to the job on monday. A week of intense training has tired me out all week so I'm off to bed.
night folks!
