OSCAR FEVER
Hollywood gets a little feverish at this time of year. Its collective brow starts to sweat, its inhabitants start running around giving lots of free shit away to anyone they can find, money changes hands, parties rage for days, and Johnny Depp and Scorsese get ready to be disrespected again. I'm talking about the Oscars. That once a year event that shows just how corrupt and injust the movie making business actually is - did anyone see Depp's performance in The Pirates Of The Caribbean? How much brilliance do you actually need to display before winning one of these little statues? But I'm not complaining - I get to go to all the run-up parties and events that they hold the week before the ceremony. Yesterday was a 'Beauty Buffet' - a huge building full of different vendors (video game companies, food, clothing, aftershave, silverware.....anything you can think of, short of a car!!) and people wander through it with a shopping bag being given stuff. ONLY in Hollywood!! I got a few nice things (some new John Varvatos aftershave, some Ugg's for the wife, and and a 30 day skincare program in a swanky Beverly Hills spa!!) but the highlight was a gorgeous grey puppy that just loved me!! I spent more time playing with him than anything else!! Oh, and some guy asked me to drive a Lamborghini from LA to Vegas as part of a 'Cannonball Run' type thing - we'll see if it actually happens!!

More rehearsals today - and I hope we sound better than last time!! I have brushed up on my memory of our songs, and I'm hoping the rest of the guys have too!! Its always a shock when you take a few weeks off, and then you come back and cant remember how the damn songs go!! But I'm looking forward to getting it all back and sounding as tight as we did at the end of last year. Later this evening, I will be attending Martin Scorsese's party here in LA.
The pic I've used today was from the recent storms in LA. Can you believe that shit!? Thats taken from Venice Beach, CA!!! Somethings up people - remember Bush saying that Global Warming didn't exist? Someone needs to show George this pic - this is Southern California, George......shit like that doesn't happen here!!! But it seems to be a little calmer today. The sun is out - time to bust the convertible out again and re-capture the 'I moved to LA to hang out and eat salad' feeling!!!
Bobbi-O - What are you doing to me?! Those dunks are unavailable in LA and now I'm obsessing!! Thanks for the link - and thanks for adding yet another pair to my everlasting list of 'Dunks I Want'!!
OK - I'm outta here. Seems as if I need to play some Steve Jones on Saturday, so all requests have been noted and I will do what I can. Dave is not available again this Saturday - dont really understand why....I mean he's chosen playing cards with Shannon Elizabeth over hanging out with me in a small, dark radio station. Just dont understand it.......!!!!! Good luck to him, and I know he'll be back next week - we all miss him. I'll be back at the weekend - have a great day everyone and see ya soon.
Peace

FLAGS, COMPUTERS AND OTHER UNRELATED SUBJECTS!!
Hi everyone. I want to start out by giving a shout out to Donna - apparently I stole her Union Jack flag at The Pond the other night and then promptly threw it into a different section of the crowd!! Well, I totally deny the allegations - there is no proof and I just would not.......hold on a second ...... ah, well, ...., look at todays pic ..... seems like I've been caught in the act!!! Ooops - sorry!!! I tend to go to a 'different' place when I am onstage and I am just not fully aware of what I'm doing, so it seems that I grabbed your flag, paraded it about for a bit, and then got rid of it - but not in your direction!! Sorry! I posted this pic today for you.
The Doheny Message Board on the main site seems to be down. I have had a lot of posts and emails letting me know. The webmaster is aware of the problem and is trying hard to fix the problem, so please be patient. We'll get it back as soon as we can.
Rehearsal yesterday was .... interesting!! Three weeks off, and it was like we were brand new!! No one had a clue how any of the songs went ...... my fingers were just refusing to go anywhere correctly and the others were suffering from the same 'finger amnesia' - but we did start working out the new tunes. I am sure that now we are back in a regular rehearsal schedule, it will all come flooding back. It was just interesting to find out that we dont actually know the songs as well as we thought!!
Today is a Camp Freddy album day, with Donovan and myself working on vocals. He has one more lead vocal to nail, and we both have some backing vox to work on. I just bought a new laptop computer, so I will take it with me and set it up while I'm sitting around. Maybe I can get online while I am over there and post a 'Live From The CF Album Sessions' thing - we'll see if I get it all working. And I am also planning on going down to The Joint tonight to see Ricky Warwick do some acoustic stuff. I think the plan is for me to join him onstage for a couple of songs, so I'll take a guitar and see what happens.
D-Wez - I actually cant stand the 'Sunday Roast' type meal. Hated it in the UK and still hate it now! Sunday lunch for me is a burrito from Baja Fresh!!
Ylais - Get better soon. Lots of chicken soup and old movies on TV. Thats Doctor Morrison's advice!!
I am going to keep the next chat at 7.00pm California time on a Sunday night. Sunday the 6th of March to be precise. So mark your calendars and we will see you in there. I think thats all I have for you right now - I am STILL working out what to do with the rest of the Tsunami posters and Tees - bear with me.
For now, I wanna say have a great day everyone, and if anyone has any more requests for Saturdays CFR, let me know. I'll do what I can. See you when you're standing in front of me.
Peace

I LOVE THE RAIN....NOT!!
Its raining heavily in LA right now, and I worry about this city. Its just not set up for this amount of water. We just had those storms where houses were sliding into the middle of the street, and now we are getting more rain. No one can drive properly in it either, and there are horrific car wrecks everywhere. Its definately a time to keep your wits about you, and to stay inside if possible. Apart from the radio show on Saturday, I have stayed at home and got a lot of work done this weekend. Finally finished mixing that new Doheny demo, 'Machine' and I have moved on to another one called By My Own Design. Jon and I will be working on recording the vocals to that this week. And oh joy of joys......we are back in the rehearsal room tomorrow after a three week break. And three weeks seems like forever when you have been doing it for a year straight!! So I cannot wait to get back in with the guys and start working up the new ones that we have demoed. I also know that we will be announcing a show or two very soon. We wanna get back on a stage so badly - we just needed to have the time off to concentrate on writing new material. But we've done that now (successfully) so bring on the dancing girls (or at least, bring on a couple of local shows!!)
Its probably time for another online chat with the band (or as many of us as can actually get on a computer!!) so I will work out a day and time with the rest of them when I see them tomorrow in the Rehearsal Room. The first couple were a lot of fun - maybe we should do it on a Saturday afternoon, before Camp Freddy Radio? Or does the Sunday early evening thing work for you lot? Let me know - I'd love to time it so that the most people can get involved.
I have to leave you with this.....I am in love with Desperate Housewives!!! What an amazing show - Jen and I watch it religously and it never lets us down!! I am officially a D.H. Nerd!!! I think the UK is getting the show as well, but its behind the US so I dont want to ruin whats going on by describing anything - but someone let me know that I havent lost my mind ........ someone tell me that they are into it as well!! Vive Brie Vandercamp!!!!
Have fun, stay safe and see ya'll soon.
Peace

ROCKING THE ARENA
Wow - we actually got through it!! Camp Freddy played an Arena show last night and I believe we managed to pull it off!! A LOT of drama along the way - Ozzy was unable to make the show, Davey Havoc from AFI got stuck at Oakland Airport and couldnt make the show either. A couple of guitarists that we had scheduled never showed, and backstage at The Pond was like a scene from Carry On Rock Star!!! But we pulled a set together with the help of Cypress Hill, Billy Duffy, John5, Richard Patrick, Gavin Rossdale and Rob Zombie, and we did a 7 song set. It was a VERY weird feeling to sing lead on Should I Stay and I Wanna Be Your Dog in a huge venue like that!! The place was absolutely packed - 12,000 people I believe - and we rocked in the usual Camp Freddy style. Two drumkits for Whole Lotta Love (with Adrian from No Doubt) Thunderkiss with Zombie was huge......and Gavin and I dueting on I Wanna Be Your Dog felt amazing. Everyone who attended the show did a good thing last night. Money was raised for an area of the world that really needs it, and I want to thank everyone for putting the show on, and making it happen. I feel humbled to have been able to share a stage like that with so many great musicians. It never ceases to amaze me what a fantastic feeling it is to do the Freddy shows, and how everyone involved manages to have so much fun.
Camp Freddy Radio tonight, and I have a couple of guests coming in. Traci Guns and Ginger from The Brides Of Destruction. Ginger used to sing in a UK band called The Wildhearts (one of my favourite bands of all time) and Traci was the ringleader of LA Guns. I know they are bringing acoustics, so we will probably continue the new trend of impromptu acoustic on air songs. Donovan will be with me tonight, but Dave will be finishing up his record so will be unable to get in. We miss him and I for one cant wait until he is back on the air with us.
I am absolutely wiped out - its been a long, hard week. My wife is away this weekend, so I think I'm gonna try hanging out around the house and getting some rest. But if I know myself, I'll manage an hour of that before a computer gets switched on, and a Doheny track appears on the screen, waiting to be edited and mixed!! But whatever - I am a very lucky guy.....I just played an arena with my side project covers band!!! Who would EVER have thought that would happen?? I'm off, but I just want to say thank you to all of you who stick around, post and make me feel like someone gives a shit. You are the best. Have a great day everyone.
Peace

LIFE CAN BE SURREAL
Had to whack this pic up today as it still seems a little weird!! I just did a Discovery Channel program called The Science Of Star Wars, where I interact with C3PO and R2D2!! Anthony (who played C3PO in the movies) was amazing - full of laughter and joking around - he put me at ease the minute I walked on set. The 8.00am call time meant waking up at 6.00am, so I am a little fried right now, but it was a lot of fun and the Gibson Digital Les Paul got a good work out on camera. A successful morning. The program airs in May, so look out for it.
Kim - Good work with the benefit money - it all helps. And sorry with the Indie Phone Situation. I'll have words at the weekend.
Jay - Cantrell is performing in Seattle that same night with the reformed Alice In Chains, but my man Duffy will be onstage with Freddy at The Pond for sure.
Bobbi-O - It depends on who ends up producing the rest of the record. We are happy with the Scott Humphrey tracks, and the Clink produced Dust also came out really well, so we'll see who ends up doing the rest of the record. The rest of the demo's are 'home-produced' so they would all get re-recorded.
OK - back to the madness of working on this Arrowhead Pond show - see ya!!!
Peace

THE UPDATE
Hi everyone. Sorry Ive not been posting recently - just that things are very busy here. The Grammy weekend was a ton of parties and events (see the beautiful pic of myself and my wife at Usher's party - I look like I'm trying to catch table tennis balls in my mouth!!). I am shooting a thing for The Discovery Channel tomorrow called 'The Science Of Star Wars' where I get to meet R2D2 and C3PO!! I am totally looking forward to it - its all about the Digital Les Paul and they are using the segment in this show about the anniversary of Star Wars. Crazy Shit!! I'm also busy with the arrangements for fridays big Tsunami Benefit show at The Pond. Not to mention the Camp Freddy album, the Doheny deal (STILL working on it!!) and the fact that my birthday, Valentines Day, and my wifes birthday ALL fall in the same week!! So I will check in when I can - Gotta dash, stay safe.
Peace

WEEKEND WARRIORS
Today's post title was inspired by an attempt by me to drive down Sunset Blvd last night!! A simple task, one might think. But oh no - due to the phenomenon known as 'Cruising' in LA, actually going anywhere near Sunset on a weekend results in an hour or so of sitting still in your car, watching people walk past you quicker than you can drive. And I dont understand it. The Weekend Warriors descend on one street...... not an area, or even a few blocks...... ONE street. They come from all over So Cal just to do this. And then, once they get here.......they do NOTHING!!! They dont go anywhere. They just drive from The Key Club, down Sunset, to about Crescent Heights...... and then they turn around and drive back!! These people spend all night just driving up and down the same street. Now if they were drag racing or something, I would understand it. But there are so many vehicles out driving up and down, that the traffic is stationary!! The weird thing is that none of these people actually live in Hollywood. They all drive for miles to experience the excitement that is ..... 'The Friday Night Traffic Jam On Sunset'. Please explain!!!!
Anyway - I have written down all your requests for tonights CFR and I will do my best to make everyone happy. I am not promising anything, but once I have posted this, I am going to put my playlist together and I'll see what I can do. And while I am on the subject of Indie 103.1 - I just want to go on record as saying that Camp Freddy are proud to be part of the Indie 103.1 family. Michael Steele and Indie have been behind us all the way, and while Dave and I can get a little hopped up on caffeine sometimes and 'get on one' about formats and stuff, its all just in good fun. The truth is that Michael allows us to do what we want and we are honored to be there. So lets all be nice to those guys over there - I think everyone took it the wrong way when Dave and I were telling everyone to write to Steele and complain...... because he got a bunch of emails!!! So now - lets all write to him and tell him how much we love Indie!!!!! Tonight I have Ricky Warwick (from The Almighty) as a guest - Ricky's a great guy and I haven't seen him in years so I, for one, am looking forward to it. I hope Dave finds 20mins to pop in and say hi.
I'm gonna get started on the playlist - I love that the posts are picking up and I see a few new people posting - welcome one and all - Doheny will be back playing soon with a bunch of new songs, and hopefully some news about the record that we all wanna make!!! We'll see how the next few weeks go, but we are taking February off from the rehearsal room, to concentrate on these new songs in the studio. March rehearsals are booked and we are looking into doing a show or two then as well. Thanks for everyones patience and I, myself, will be back here tomorrow, rambling on as usual!!. Take care and have a fun weekend.
Peace

MY NAME IS KIIIIIIID.......
Kid Rock and Lynrd Skynrd at The House Of Blues. Perfect sound, great songs, great night. That guy knows how to entertain a crowd. It doesnt matter if you like his brand of southern hip hop cowboy metal or not (I actually love it) - you HAVE to appreciate the professionalism and entertainment value when he steps onto a stage. Last night, the sound was perfect and his band were just ridiculously tight. Lynrd Skynrd (whats left of em) joined him onstage for an amazing version of Sweet Home Alabama and rocked an absolutely sold out HOB. Excellent fun.
CFR tomorrow and I have a friend of mine visiting the studio - Mr Ricky Warwick. Ricky was the frontman for UK band, The Almighty and has recently been releasing solo albums and touring with Def Leppard. The guy steps out onto an arena stage with just an acoustic guitar and starts playing!! That takes some balls, people!! Anyway, Ricky will be in the studio tomorrow and I am pretty sure the acoustics will be down there as well, for some live, Camp Freddy style jams. Not sure if Dave will be making it down, as he is deep in the 'record making' process, but I am sure he'll call in if he cant make it. Big Up Dave - cant WAIT to hear the record......proud of you, mate.
Today I'm gonna hole up in my studio and mix the demo of Doheny's new song, Part Of The Machine. Its pissing with rain here in LA so its a perfect day to stay inside and get some work done. (Isnt that what I do every day?!!) I'll have the song done and finished by end of play today. Then Jon and I can move on to the next one, a huge riff based song, with a working title of By My Own Design. My guy at Audio Technica (the company that makes my wireless guitar system) sent me some new AT mics, so I'll hook them up and do all my backing vocals today, and spend the evening mixing the whole thing. Oh, and Jon and I were talking yesterday about booking a Doheny LA show in March. We are just trying to figure out where and when to do it. I'll let you know.
Chase - you are a star. Thanks for putting the interview up (although I hate the sound of my own voice!!)
OK - Outta here. Let me leave you with a question. What songs do you want to hear on CFR tomorrow? Yeah, thats right, I want to play some stuff that you lot want to hear. Post your answers today and I will do what I can when I am getting my tracks together tomorrow morning. Its cos I love you all!!!!
Take it easy and have a great day.
Peace

BIRTHDAY BOY
What a fantastic birthday!! Thank you all for the wonderful posts. I had a great day - started off with a nice relaxed breakfast at my favorite LA hotel, The Sunset Marquis. Jen then took me to the specialist sneaker store, Undefeated, and bought me....... you guessed it ........ a pair of Dunks!! A fairly hard to find color combination of dark blue and yellow (known as the Michigan) I have been after a pair of Michigans for a while now, so I had a huge smile on my face when we walked out of there!!
Then I came home and played Vietcong on the PS2 for an hour until it was time to leave to go to the studio. On my way over the canyon, my girl at Gibson (what up Shanon!!!) called me with some great news - I will give you details once I have done this thing next wednesday - and confirmed that Gibson will be making me a white Standard (I have been after this guitar for SO long!!) Another cool birthday treat!!
The afternoon and evening were spent in the Camp Freddy studio with Mike Clink, working on edits and discussing what needs to be done. And then around 8.00pm, Steve Jones arrived to play on one of the tracks on the record. Now you have to understand that Jonesy is the reason I started playing in the first place. So my birthday was topped off rather nicely ....... watching him play my Black CF Custom on one of our album tracks!! Very cool. That guy just plays the guitar in such a physical, no bullshit way, and really does make the strings bend and sing in his own way. I loved it - thanks Steve. And thanks Jay for rocking The Pistols in the gym - great workout music if you ask me!!!
FlamingHeart - Great birthday suit pic!! Maybe I should put a real 'Billy in his birthday suit' pic up here ...... I am sure there's a few of me like that floating around somewhere!!!
Acacia - Have fun with the free sushi - I went to a Grammy 'watching' party once. Didnt watch one minute of the show. Spent all my time there eating the chocolate cookies!!
Julia - Have a wonderful time in La Francais (thats probably wrong, I know!! The only thing I remember from French class is ..... dans mon jardin, Il'ya quelca fleurs et des arbres!!!! Anyway, have a great time and watch out for the garlic!
Sandy B - AQUARIANS baby!!!!
I am awake pretty early as Malcolm Dome from www.totalrock.com will be calling me in a little while to do a live interview with me. I love Malcolm - he supported Stimulator back in the day and wrote some great reviews for us. So I will enjoy chatting with him. Tune in at 5.30pm UK time (9.30am US West Coast time if you wanna get online in the US) I should really drink another vat of coffee before he calls otherwise it'll be all one word answers!! Thats pretty much it for today - I'm gonna go see Kid Rock at the LA House Of Blues tonight. That'll be a cool show. Thank you all again SO MUCH for all the birthday wishes and cards that I received. I mean it when I say you guys made my day. Back tomorrow.
Peace

STUDIO TAN
Good morning people. Ever heard of the studio tan? It’s the suntan that you don’t get when you are in the recording studio all the time!! You can tell the guys who are ‘in the studio’ cos they start to get this translucent white color!! I think I’m getting a studio tan! Another day of recording – this time with Jon, doing more vocals on that new song. I think we’ll get all the rest of the vocals done today, which would be killer – I know he has the lyric finished …. Just a matter of nailing the performance (which Jon seems to do most times!). Yesterdays Camp Freddy recording stuff went really smoothly and Mike and I are back in there on Wednesday and Friday of this week, with more guests and more editing.
The phone has been ringing off the hook and the emails have been flooding in since that Tsunami announcement. I don’t really know much more than what I have posted already. The show is on Friday 18th Feb at The Arrowhead Pond in Anaheim, and features The Crystal Method, Story Of The Year, Jurassic 5, Blink 182, Linkin Park with Jay Z, No Doubt and Camp Freddy. We know that Ozzy Osbourne will be performing with us, and we are in the process of putting the rest of the show together. All proceeds go to Music For Relief.
The Grammys are coming up this weekend and the whole of Hollywood starts racing around trying to hold the best party, the most glamorous event or give the most famous person the most expensive gift. Its pretty wild here at this time of year, and I am sure that I will be out and about for a night or two – if the recording schedule between Doheny’s new demos and the Camp Freddy album permits (for those of you who sent birthday cards to me – a HUGE thank you, and also …… its too late to tell me not to work on my birthday – we are already booked to do some editing and record another guest on Wednesday!!)
So who do you think deserves the Grammy? Cast your votes here and see if anyone can predict the winners. Obviously, my vote is for the Velvet Revolver guys, but who else do we want to win? Who deserves the recognition this year? Who made the biggest splash – and do they really deserve the attention? And who should be winning a Grammy but isn’t nominated? All opinions welcome.
Alright folks – enough of me – Dave has some new fun Doheny art up in the 'Your Artwork 4' page. I am gonna down the caffeine and get to work. I want to have the track sounding perfect when Jon gets here. I want to make it as easy and painless as possible. So check back soon – and have a great day. Oh – and check out the ‘Tabloid Magazine’ artwork for today. I LOVE it.
Peace

THE BAG AND THE CAT THAT WAS LET OUT
Yeah - We are doing the big Tsunami Benefit at The Arrowhead Pond in Anaheim on Feb 18th....and Ozzy is gonna sing with us!! Unbelievable!! Until I heard it announced on KROQ today, I didnt believe it. So it seems we have 12 days to put together a fantastic Camp Freddy line up for the event. It makes my heart warm that we are able to contribute so much to the Music For Relief fund. I honestly feel that we can make a difference with this, and thanks to Linkin Park's move to create that fund, the music business has been able to join together and help. I am honored to be a part of the evening, and Camp Freddy will, as usual, pull out all the stops to make it a special night.
I am typing this from the studio where we are recording the Camp Freddy album, and another killer guitar player is coming in about 15 minutes to put a solo down and to sing on a track. Keeping it secret right now, as we don't want to blow the surprises before the album is done. Suffice to say that the whole record is sounding amazing, and the guests are making it SO special. All very exciting stuff.
The new Doheny track, Part Of The Machine, is sounding so good - played it to the management last week, and we are all agreed that it is one of the top three Doheny tunes so far. Its great to be surrounding myself with so much creativity and musical output right now. I am feeling a lot of gratitude and humility these days - just to be able to play a guitar every day makes me a lucky guy. You guys actually being interested in what I do just puts the ball outta the park!! Thank you.
I should get going here - just wanted to log on and express my excitement and gratitude. Looking forward to a good day in the studio - I'll be back in the morning. Check out the fantastic pic of myself, Jon and a certain Mr Steve Jones, doing the Sex Pistols classic, Pretty Vacant, at the recent Freddy show at The Key Club. Have a great day everyone.
Peace

And talking of Camp Freddy Radio - those of you in the UK can check out the show on www.totalrock.com on Mondays and Thursdays. We love Totalrock and in fact, I will be doing a live interview by phone, all about Doheny, this coming thursday at 5.30pm UK time. Tune In, Turn On......and listen to me ramble on inanely cos it will only be 9.30am here in LA!! Expect plenty of coffee-slurping noises and sucking on cigarettes!!

FRIDAY ON MY MIND
The weekend is looming again, and that means CFR!! I know that Dave has Eric Avery coming in as a guest, which I am really looking forward to, and I have some tickets to a show to give away (Backyard Babies in LA - check em out...they absolutely ROCK!!!), plus all the usual madness. Tune in tomorrow at 6pm on Indie 103.1FM LA and OC. And I also have to thank Debbie VanStory for the pics Ive been using on the blog recently. She sent me a few to use from the Key Club show and I think they are really cool shots.
Yesterday was a very full day for me. We had a meeting in the morning with Mike Clink and Dave about the Camp Freddy album - all is ticking along nicely, and the plan is to have a couple of tracks finished really soon, to start playing on the radio and generally getting the buzz started. They sound so good - Im really excited. Then I went to meet with Henry Dwarte, who makes fantastic leather and suede clothes, here in LA. He fitted me for some pants and gave me a couple of shirts - Thanks Henry!! From there, I went down to see Donovan and picked up a few PS2 games while I was at it, and then it was work with Jon on Doheny vocals for the new tracks. Jon is on form right now, and has some great lyrics done for these tunes - he knocked out one complete track yesterday and his voice sounded perfect. Today I'm going to start editing the files and start mixing the track. But the interesting thing about yesterday was that there was a camera following me around all day!! Not a lot to explain right now - just an idea thats being looked at regarding CF. More details to follow.
Regarding tee shirts and posters from the Key Club show - I now have the shirts and posters in my posession, but I have to figure out a way to actually sell them. I might be able to have someone set up a Paypal account linked to the Camp Freddy site, but it will take a little while. The original webmaster for the CF site is no longer running it, so I have to get around to working it all out. Maybe I'll speak to Indie's web guy and see what I can sort out. Patience please. Oh yeah, and while we are talking Tsunami, it seems like Camp Freddy are, in fact, playing at The Anaheim Pond on Feb 18th, as part of a big Tsunami benefit show. I heard that the show is confirmed, but I am just waiting to see some adverts out there before listing the rest of the bands on the bill. Trust me, its a huge event!!
Skot and Jay - Yes, we have been 'shopping' for the deal recently, and thats why we are not playing and keeping our heads down. And yes, we are close.
Matt - Playing the completed song to an audience and watching them have a positive reaction is the best feeling ever.
Kim - The songs that end up on the record will be the strongest 12. I think the whole band agree on at least 9 of those, and the newer ones that we are working on right now are very strong, so I would imagine that at least 2 or 3 of those will probably make it on to the album. The rest of the songs will remain in our arsenal for b-sides, movie stuff, and of course......hopefully that second record!!
OK - time to fire up the studio G5 and get snipping!! I like editing - its a very focused, insular process that enables me to lose track of time and place and just get lost inside the song. I'll be back tomorrow - Thank you all for being here - you know it makes my day. Have a great weekend everyone. Todays pic is one of my favourites - Steve Issacs from The Panic Channel, and myself, playing She Sells Sanctuary.
Peace

WEDNESDAY STYLE
Morning all!! I've been concentrating on these new songs and its really paying off. Mondays rehearsal was very cool - we jammed all the ideas that we have as a band, and worked out arrangements, riff changes, timing stuff etc. Two or three ideas very quickly turned into songs. So yesterday I sketched out each one in the computer and got them sounding ok. Sean is coming today to put his guitar parts down and Jon will put his vocal ideas down tomorrow. And Voila!! More good Doheny tunes! We now have about 21 songs, and we are working hard in the rehearsal room to have every one sounding as good as it can.
We also spoke about doing some shows and we will get it organized soon. Stuff is going on and we are waiting to see how it all pans out before we do anything. So we are just doing what we should be doing - which is making sure the music works. Patience everyone.
Shay - Welcome to the Doheny family. Hope you become a regular face around here. Everyone on the Blog is super nice and we are all glad you stopped in.
Theresa - Do I remember what first turned me on? Yeah - it was these adverts for Lingerie in the back of the Sunday newspapers. Probably explains why underwear still does it for me (among MANY other things!!)
RP - Susannah Hoffs for SHIZZZLE!!! That is one hot lady!! And she walks like an Egyptian as well!!
Sue - We actually never got around to talking to Leigh about Adam. Dont think he's is contact with him any more. But we will get Adam eventually.....oh yes, we'll get him!!
Matt - Cream? Well, to be honest, none of us are that excited by the reunion. You know, I'm not knocking Clapton or anything - he's a great player and a lovely guy.....its just that its a little 'Prog' for me. Good luck to em, though. I doubt I will be in the front row....(or even in the bar!)
Welcome back Karen, and thank you Mortisha8 for the well wishes to Jen. Very sweet of you.
So Ylais asked a bunch of questions for the band, and they all have copies and will be sending me answers over the next few days. Here are some of Jon's answers -
What was the last thing you put in your mouth?
Listerine. They have a new citrus flavor that doesn’t rip your face off.
What rumour would you like to start about yourself?
That I was incredibly handsome, rich, talented, athletic, generous, a friend of the animals, loved by the people and killer in the sack.
What would surprise people about you?
I can dream in French.
What song do you want played at your funeral?
ACDC “Back In Black” it’s written into my will.
What's it like working, playing, being with Billy in a band?
Arduous, but we all struggle through it for the cash.
(I KNOW he's messing around......cos there isn't any cash!!!!)
More answers from the other guys as the days roll by - I'm off to do some work. Have a great day everyone, and thanks for being here. And a huge thanks to Debbie Van Story at abacausa.com for being cool about letting me post her great pictures on here. You rule.
Peace
Billy
