TOO MUCH COFFEE...

Billy_and_tony_in_studioAnyone listening to Camp Freddy Radio last night will have had an idea of just how much caffeine it takes for me and Dave to do that shit!! We were out of our minds on the show!! Both of us had such a great time doing last nights broadcast - and I played the Mike Clink produced Dust for the first time. What do you think? Its so great being able to debut stuff we've done on radio - I hope you liked the track. I believe that Camp Freddy radio will be turning into a bi-weekly affair. Dont quote me just yet, but it seems like we will be doing two shows a week, and the station will be re-airing at least one of those as well, so thats three times the amount of current Freddy on air. Should be fun.

I dont have a lot to say today - its business as usual next week, with the Camp Freddy show on Thursday, Doheny rehearsals, and some management meetings to work on that record deal. So today is a day of rest. No carpet being put in, no studio to re-wire - just LOTS of Tivo'd TV to watch!!!
Check out the new artwork in Your Artwork 4. Todays pic is of Tony and I working out parts in Mikes studio last week. The guitar I am using is this insane Gibson J200 Jumbo acoustic - it just sounds so amazing and has a beautiful matched AAA flame back. Have a great Sunday and I'll be back in the morning. Love y'all.

Billy

last night's show was pretty damn funny...it's obvious you and dave get along quite well. man, i wish we had a sports chalet in new york! and it was cool that you played "nirvana" for jay and linda. i thought "dust" sounded pretty good, would like to hear it again. i know you said it was all mike clink - besides making it "sound" good, what else does he do? i mean is he more of an ideas kind of guy or does he get right in there and roll up his sleeves - help with the arrangements and all?

Double the Freddy, Double the Fun...

You know though, not to disrespect ANY of the other members of CF, but you two are really the only two who are consistently there. It really has become the "Billy and Dave Show", and we LOVE it...LOL I know I don't just speak for myself when I say that if anyone else is missing, it's ok, but if you or Dave aren't there it's just not the same type of show. The energy level is different or something. Or maybe it's the caffeine level that's different...lolol. Either way, looking forward to the potential of another show each week. Maybe in true CF form you can get more guests in as well. ;-)

Thanks for playing Dust...GREAT track. And Nirvana to kick it off was great as well. Cool shout-out to Linda and Jay!

I'm off today to go shopping for a webcam. I think Dave should have bought stocks in one of those companies, cos I'm sure webcam sales have spiked since he started that TPC board...lmao.

Happy Sunday Everyone!

Thanks Billy, for sending out Nirvana to me & Jay! Very cool of you. I love that song.

CFR twice a week would be great, except then I'll have to fight off the husband or the kid for the computer on two nights instead of just one!

I'm gonna make a suggestion for future CFR broadcasts. Take it for what it's worth. (And considering last night was BYOH night, with the situation in the studio, it may not even be possible!) How about some LIVE music on CFR? Since Camp Freddy's about getting together and playing music just for the fun of it. An on the spot sort of thing. It wouldn't have to be anything elaborate. When you have special guests on the show, you could make them sing us a little song. (Ok, ASK them if they'd like to sing us a song.) Maybe some day we could even have the Two Billys entertain us. Hell, I'd settle for you & Dave doing the acoustic version of Dancing Queen if it meant something live. I think that would be fun.

YES!! Linda, live music would be awesome!
Dust is killer, i really like that track!

biweekly cfr would be awesome... maybe that will give the other guys more of a chance to be present.
What all did you Tivo to watch?

Dust is awesome Billy.. you done good.
2 nights of CFR?..Are there enough ads in the LA Weekly to keep you going?....My favorite part of that whole thing is when they choke and hang up on you..lol Jees does this mean you will get paid?

Never got to hear Camp Freddy radio, been majorly busy this week, including a 3 hour set by Led By Zeppelin ... if you've never had the privlege to see the original Zep live, this truly is like the closest you could come to seeing them. They nailed everything perfectly from the collossal drums in Moby Dick, the riff master piece Immigrant Song, the seminal Whole Lot Of Love, to the ethereal planes of Stairway To Heaven.

I see you got your UK Metal Hammer, I think my one might get to you next week sometime (I was quite a bit delayed posting it), but you never know, you might get a different Velvet Revolver cover to keep!

Speaking of Tribute bands, who's the best you've ever seen? I remember you mentioning that all lady AC/DC tribute band. Any others worth mentioning?

Thanks

Kim

just a heads up for those who might not check out Dave's site regularly [ http://6767.com ], he/they just launched The Panic Channel radio player. among things on the play list is this past weekends CFR show. i'll be sending all future shows to them to put up as well, and will continue to put up 2004 CFR shows for download on my site, http://notfornothing.net/

I'm going to try getting a back issue for the Jan Metal Hammer. You'd have thought that would have occurred to me before this afternoon! :D
I'll have a nose around on ebay uk too.

For some reason the 6767 radio player has yet to function on my computer. (scratching head)

Tribute band thought~Why are there so many The Darkness tribute bands in the UK?

Love and hugs to all,
Lisa

Okay, the TPC radio IS working, and I'm listening to CFR and singing my heart out and grinding around to "Nirvana", man oh man, The Cult makes me feel horny as hell. (memories...)

Me again. I love replying to myself. :D

Dust is a beautiful song. It moved me.

That's a good thing, when I get tears in my eyes listening to a song.

You know, the more I listen to Dust, the more I absolutely love it. Jon's lyrics are amazing.

If they found God today
we told them to realize
there's nothing above those skies
we don't have beneath our feet...

hmmm...maybe I should take it off loop play...lol

Posted by: flamingheart at January 25, 2005 01:15 AM

I so agree FH. I think Jon's lyrics are amazing too.

Billy~That Gibson is absolutely beautiful.
(I can't ask you particular questions about Gibsons can I? I just noticed both you and Dave stay away from answering questions about the guitars you use..is that a sponsorship thing? ignorant in that area person here)
