THAT SUNDAY MORNING FEELING
I'm really excited this morning. I got a lot of work done yesterday - I have workable mixes of three of the seven songs on my list, AND I started work (finally) on a fantastic song idea I've had for a while. Its a slow one, and doesnt have a title yet (thats down to what Jon writes for lyrics). But it just feels so good - a departure for Doheny, but still sounds like us. Very simple and effective. Cant wait to finish it. And I have "So Right', All You Never Do' and 'Throw It Away' in mixable form now. Today, I'll continue with this new idea, and then tonight (I find that night time is the best mix time) I will pull the other three up and try and finish them. Seems my dry spell is over (touch wood) and the creative juices are flowing again. It's always nice when juices are flowing!!!
CFR was insane last night! Dave, Donovan and myself ran riot in the studio - I wish there was a camera in the studio so you could see how manic we get!! The phones are ringing, coffee is delivered, there's notes and bits of paper with reminder's everywhere, and we are just crazy for those two hours! Its like letting three 10 year olds into a toy store!! I played Bloody Mary, by The Panic Channel (which I just LOVE!!), Doheny's Watching It All Burn and Steve Jones solo album version of a Sex Pistols song (my favourite) Did You No Wrong. Dave played Abba (our new pick of the week!) and Iron Maiden, and Donovan brought the UK britpop with Placebo. Oh yeah......and we talked for a loooonnnnnnng time!!!
FlamingHeart - I LOVE the personal Starbucks story. I suppose after all this I really have to get one, dont I?!! I mean, life would really be complete with a smiley girl in a green hat bringing me a gingerbread latte every morning. I'd never leave the house!! And yeah, I'm feeling lonely now that Dave has that whole Panic Community thing going on!! Its very good over there. Maybe I'll just pop over and.................................................
Jezzi - Yeah, seems like NAMM is a guitar players magnet! Here's a tip, find out what guitar your favourite player uses, and then camp outside that brand's stall for four days!! You are bound top run into them eventually!! Seriously though, its pretty crazy down there - everyone goes and schmoozes all the manufacturers for free shit. I'll be spending the Thursday and the Saturday running around with the Doheny boys.
ElectricMayhem - Yes I really did spend a while at The Torture Garden back in the day. And yes I do have A LOT of pretty wild stories from there. I was heavily involved in that scene for sometime. Not sure its everyones 'cup of tea' though, so I tend to leave it in the memory banks.
Ylais - My apologies for what happened to you last night at CFR. First of all, I had no idea you were on hold. And I KNOW that Donovan did not leave you there intentionally. You have to understand how mad it gets on Saturday nights in that room. It was a complete oversight on our part and if you call again, we will DEFINATELY get you on. And by the way, inappropriate and naughty is the whole vibe of the show, so dont worry about if you offended him.....I guarantee you didnt!!!
Skot - The Pink Dot mp3 is awesome!! Can you post a reply to this and link it so that everyone can here it? You should have seen the Pink Dot guy in the studio - he was digging it!!
OK - stop rambling Billy. Time to get that juice flowing again. I hope you guys keep spreading the Doheny Family word out there, and please - if there is stuff that you wanna know, or read about here, feel free to suggest it to me. I want to make this place somewhere you can get what you want. Its all about you lot. Check out the mad pic of Tony I found today and have a great Sunday. See you next week.
Peace
Billy

Aww, don't feel lonely, Billy. We love you! Come on over & play! Just don't plan on leaving, because it will suck you in for hours & hours & hours.... Stock up on coffee & ciggies first. ;)
I would like to hear some Torture Garden stories. I went to the Vault in NYC - only once - and we got thrown out for being too risque! It was nothing, really. I still don't understand what rule we broke & why we were thrown out. Couldn't take us anywhere, even on leashes.
CFR was hilarious, as usual. I can't believe you had Triumph singing! LOL!
Ok, I'm sleep deprived & delirious so I'm leaving now. Glad to hear your studio is together & the Doheny stuff is starting to gel.
Have a good one!

Billy, that was me when you answered the phone at about 630 or so...I said Hi Billy, you said, Hi who's this, and then I was on hold (just in case)....it was cool, I was watching the football game with my friends at the pub, and listening to Camp Freddy Radio live at the same time, I did have to finally hang up when I went to the loo..oh well, then I called back and requested Doheny so all goood, heard you played it
Hey, ok, I get it, I used to be a Cosmetic buyer, went to Christmas shows, so I know all about working the room!!!
I just wanted to know where they go after a hard day of pressing palms!!
I'm happy to know the weather looks partly cloudy with strong chance of "raining men"
love to you and yours, Billy!!
And Dave said you have crystal blue eyes, doesn't he know they are blue green, lol?

Hey Billy! good to hear the new carpet is done!
you're more than welcome to come on over to the Panic Community and mingle with us monkeys :)
I'm glad you played Watching It All Burn on CFR, that song is the dog's bullocks!

Hey Guys!
Alchemy, it IS recommended that you do sleep at some point...lol
Billy, we have all been pulled in by Dave's new board. We all have OCPD (obsessive compulsive posting disorder). Along with that comes the inability to actually leave the computer chair. We've had more than a few marathon sessions over there in the last few days. Wait, what does that say about us needing a life...lol With that said though, DON'T BE LONELY!! You're still the bee's knees with us monkeys. ;-)It's just a new place for us to go a bit crazy. Come and join the party over there sometime.
CFR was good last night. Nice that you played Bloody Mary and Watching It All Burn. I also was happy to hear Placebo. Not too many peeps out my way know who they are.
Well, it's Sunday...gotta go pretend to do something productive..lol

Glad the carpet is done ..does it match the drapes?..lol..ba dum bum..
be very careful of that panic channel place I have heard of people going in that have yet to be seen again.
ok, save the Torture Garden stories for your book.."Confessions of an S&M Monkey"
guaranteed best seller.
Have a good weekend

Billy! Come play with us!

Thank you Billy for your kind answer. I have to admit I was actually in tears over that, which surprised me.
I had been out to see my guitar teacher (Mark)
and the band he's in play, and I was wide awake and UP still; which is rare for me at that time (2am~4am). When I listen, I'm normally dozey, or have to put an alarm on to wake me up. I was also in the chat room which is great. I love my fellow "monkeys", but again, I'm usually barely awake to go in there and chat at that time.
Anyway, I thought about emailing you and/or Dave about this, because I didn't want to make it a huge issue. But I guess it's okay to say over here, and you can set me straight on this. It's really bugging me. It seemed I was put on hold since I identified myself as a 6767er, and later hung up on because I identified myself as "in the Doheny Chat Room". and "with the ladies in there" (something like that) and mentioned yourself in context with that. Once I menioned that, I was hung up on.
I know it's hectic, but I'm still unconvinced that was the real reason. I heard something said as an aside, and I know it could all be a mix-up still. I just would like it really cleared up.
I'll shut the hell up about it and email you personally if that's better.
Love Lisa xxxx

hey gang, here I am at home today. We had a blizzard this morning and while attempting to get to work, I fell down the outside stairs. So there I am laying in the sidewalk in pain, cars driving by for what seemed like forever before somebody came to help me up. Thank goodness for the bus driver and the taxi driver, they helped me backup the stairs and I made it inside to call into work to take the day off. Course it's also -17C so I'm in pain, soaked, pissed off at the weather (LOL). Take a hot bath, some aspirin and go back to bed. I just got up 1/2 hr ago and it looks like someone beat me up. Bruised head to toe. Did I ever tell you I hate winter. ;)
Sorry to share but I had to whine to someone and everyone else is still at work. ;b
Hope you're all having a better day than me and Billy, it makes me sad you won't take any of my snow. lol
p.s., love the picture of tony above, we don't see enough of him and colin. ;)

That 17C was suppose to be -17C and tonight -29C and tomorrow -32C so there you are, my personal hell for a bit. ;b

Ok, remember how I said I didn't do New Year's Resolutions? Well, I am thinking I might need to change that...
I've decided that my resolution is to DRINK WATER. This might seem weird, but yesterday I realised that all I had had to drink was coffee, Dr. Pepper and red wine...ALL DAY. Saturday...coffee and Dr. Pepper. Are we starting to see a pattern here???
I *MAY* have a slight caffeine addiction...lol
So...as soon as I'm done this Dr. Pepper, I'm going to get a glass of water... ;-)

That's funny...I have missed the last several CFR shows, so I don't know what all the craziness was about....But I just a week or two ago was explaining to a friend what pink dot is!!! She had no clue...I love the rap, I think they should use it as their ad now!! I'm sure it would work wonders...............

hiya gang, thanks for all your kindnesses. I did stop by the outpatient on my way to work this morning for a quick check, nothing broken or sprained, just bruise and sore and stiff. Tylenol and rest is what they prescribed so here I am at work. lol
El, I think for my next bit of fun I'll go for a bus hitting me. ;b lol
The stories I could tell you about some of my mishaps. Everyone at work still laughs at them. And what's worse, I use to work int he safety group. Do you know how embarrassing it is to write up an accident report on yourself and have your boss shake his head at you. LOL
Billy, get to work. ;b lol Only a week away for the CF show, you must be busy making sure things get done. Good luck on that!
Well I'm off (as you all know by now).
hugs,
moi

Me again, you thought i was gone didn't you?
Billy, I have a question. When you guys finally record a CD, will you print the lyrics on the leaflet? I like having lyrics to read so I can make sure I'm actually singing the correct words. lol
hugs,
tina

Tina~Glad you got checked! Are you left handed by any chance? May explain the mishaps!!!
Too funny about being in the safety group. :D
I'm all for lyrics as well. I love singing along! Love it!!!
