RAINY DAYS
It is absolutely miserable weather here in LA - which means I will be getting a lot of work done today! It seems like England out there - grey, wet and cold. So I intend to spend the day working on one of the new Doheny tracks that Jon has sung on already. A song called Throw It All Away - great lyrics, and a verse riff written by Sean. I'm tidying it all up and doing the chorus and bridge and generally making it into a cohesive arrangement. Rehearsal was great yesterday - we nailed California finally. We will be adding that to the next live set that we play. We also dredged up Time (which definately sounds cool) and a song called (I Found My) Summer - which is another tough one to get right, but sounds great when we nail it. Everyone was in good spirits and it felt good to be a band again after three weeks off.
Its Camp Freddy Radio tonight - not sure who will actually be attending, but I know I'll be there. Cant wait to get back in the swing of it. I really enjoy doing the show - its funny and we get to play whatever music we want. What more could you ask??!! We will be talking more about the Benefit Show at The Key Club on Jan 27th as well. I know that tickets are available from the Key Club Box Office now, and there will be a LIMITED amount of tickets left on the night for people walking up. But I advise you strongly to get your ticket in advance - I spoke to the club yesterday, and they have had a LOT of calls about this show. So do it now, people!!
Tina - Yeah. Duffy plays guitar on Should I Stay and I am the one who sings (shouts!) it. And thanks so much for thinking of me, but......you can KEEP the snow!!!!
WP - I'm not actually sure how people not attending the Key Club show can contribute. I will bring it up with Dave tonight on the radio show and see if we can figure it out.
Todays pic is from the recent CF Sony show in Vegas - Mr Weiland, Mr Sex Pistol, ......and li'l ol me!! I'm off to turn the big computer on and get editing. Have a wonderful weekend, and I'll be back soon. Get your thinking caps on and hit me with some questions if you like - I have time to answer some right now. Until next time - RESPEC' TO THE DOHENY MASSIVE!!!!!
Peace
Billy

Speaking of 'massives' Billy dear, do you watch Da Ali G Show?
I will be tuning in, 9pm-12am EST. As always, it will be great!
Do you know anything about clips from the Christmas Show or New Years being available? I missed the Christmas one.
I can't make it to the 27th show unfortuneatly, as I'm broke as anything. I wish I could come and see all you guys play, that would be a dream.

Oh, and that picture is fantastic! Your guitar is gorgeous - I'm working on a dinky little Indigo Ibanez right now.
How I would die to get my hands on a shimmery pink and silver one...

Billy,
How 'bout a rundown of your session work to date? Stuff outside CF and Doheny of course.
Thank you,
Jay

Ok, Billy, but remember, you asked us to ask!!
Here are some things I am DYING to know!!
1. What is in your CD player right now?
2. What inspired you to pick up the guitar, how old were you?
3. How did you meet your wife?
4. What's your favorite curse word?
(stolen from James Lipton)
5. Dave has often been asked where and when he met you, and he says he can't remember...Can you?
jezzi(you know I have a million more, but I was happy to know the color of your eyes, remember)

“Hang on lads, I've got a great idea.” (Charlie Crocker, The Italian Job)
What about video and/or audio taping the CF Key Club show? Putting a limited number of tapes/CD's up for sale or auction, with the proceeds going to one of the tsunami relief efforts?
Easier said than done?
Hmm... what about...
Limited Edition Camp Freddy merchandise! Which could be anything: t-shirts, bumper stickers, key chains, over-sized COFFEE MUGS!
It would be something available to the entire “MASSIVE” and for such a worthy cause.

Sue, the thought of a video went thru my mind as well.
DiscLive does audio copies of shows, so why couldn't they (or someone else) do a video copy of the show? Just a thought...

Yes I would certainly purchase a CD or video of the show... but you can always help out if you want to help, by donating somewhere in your local community, like the Red Cross. ;)
Thanks for the link to that disclive thing heidi, it's pretty cool.
Jules, welcome back home, I saw a message from you unfortunately was away. Hope you'll be around for cfr tonight. ;)

Just saw that the "Tour of Two Billys" is hitting CFR tonight!
Tune in!!
Posted by: flamingheart at January 8, 2005 03:56 PM
hey Billy, I was very excited to get on CFR and to talk to Duffy was just amazing. And I finally got to ask my solo album questions which I've been wanting to ask for months. I had a blast, was totally funny and I didn't mean to tell Dave I didn't want to talk to him. LOL
Also, didn't mean to get you guys into trouble with my last question, you know the girls just wanted to have that question asked. ;)
Anyway, truly fun show. ;)

That's it...we took a vote and decided that Duffy should get to come into the studio ALL THE TIME with you guys!
What a great show tonight...lmao

Billy,
I'm a James Spader fan, too. Have you seen him in "Secretary" with Maggie Gyllenhaal? If so, any thoughts?

Billy, I agree, great show, thanks for talking to me...and thanks for letting me talk to Billy Duffy, he is so cool...
I appreciate greatly your eloquence in putting into perspective the great loss of life in Southeast Asia. I am so proud of you and the others for deciding to do something about it. There are 1.5 million orphans now in an area of the world already subjected to sexual tourism, and child slavery. The tsunami was just the beginning. I urge you, and others to consider donating to UNICEF, which seeks to protect these children from any more tragedy and exploitation...
As I posted on Dave's site, my cherubs, who can be seen in the Rogues Galley, have, with the rest of their schoolmates, already raised over 500 dollars, most of it in pennies. You might think 10 dollars is not a lot to you, but in these impoverished countries, it goes a long way toward providin emergency medical care and water purification...
I love my Doheny family, it was so fun being in the chat room with the girls...oh yes, and the one penis, lol

Sorry can't get any of the personal info bits to work but its d_Wez. Anyway my question to yon Billy is
Do you think if you'd never gone down the 'drugs route' your life would be better now or worse? Do you see it as a trial without whic you wouldn't be where you are today or if you'd be clean you'd probably be working in an office in the UK.
"it's a wonderful life"?

Alright damnit, somebody please recap CFR/Duffy for me. Was out and missed the whole thing.
Any kind of news on CV, Cult or whatever?
Thanks in advance..

Jez,
Just a guess on a couple of your questions for Billy, but being around these parts for a while, one picks up on things..
"1. What is in your CD player right now?"
How 'bout VR and Hoobastank for starters?
"2. What inspired you to pick up the guitar, how old were you?"
Hmmm....Steve Jones and about 13/14?
"5. Dave has often been asked where and when he met you, and he says he can't remember...Can you?"
Something about a coffee shop encounter?
Probably wrong on all accounts, but what the hell, I gave it a shot..
