KEY CLUB TICKETS
A couple of days to go until the Freddy show at the Key Club, and I just wanted to let anyone who’s interested know that the advance tickets have all sold out. There will be a LIMITED amount of walk up tickets available, so if that was your plan, I have to advise you to get there early. The show is a huge success and I am sure that we will generate some badly needed cash for the American Red Cross. So thank you if you bought a ticket already, and thanks in advance if you plan on coming down on Thursday.
I’m really happy that you all seemed to like Dust – I think it’s a beautiful song, and the lyrics move me every time. It’s in the growing arsenal of recorded tracks that we have, and each time we do one, we get closer to doing the whole record. And Ylais – you can ask me anything – I have always said that to everyone. What do you want to know about my guitars?
Bobbi-O – Mike is a true producer. He positions every mic (which is the most important part of the recording process. Half an inch to the left or right and the instrument will sound completely different). He talks about the lyrics, the arrangements, makes suggestions, and has a way of getting the best performance out of the artist.
Kim – Yeah, Whole Lotta Rosie are a great ACDC covers band……I think Metalskool are also fantastic – they are just a general 80’s Metal cover band. Do everything from Poison to Bon Jovi. Always a riot!!!
Today is a work day in my studio – Jon has some killer lyrics to a couple of the new tunes, so it’s my job to get a decent mix together for him to sing over. I’ll be doing that most of the day, so it looks like the Starbucks delivery service will earn their money today!!
Has anyone seen Desperate Housewives? I have it on Tivo season pass, and I got around to watching some of it at the weekend. Genius series!! Everyone is fucking everyone else, and everyone has a secret!!! I’m a sucker for it now – cant wait to watch the next few episodes.
That’s it – I’m off to start work. Have a great day everyone.
Peace
Billy

OMG...LMAO!! Billy's hooked on Desperate Housewives!!
I watch it religiously. It's the perfect mix of smut and scandal, with white picket fences. Welcome to our Sunday night guilty pleasure...

Have you been watching Lost? It is great too.

I'm just sulking right now, over not seeing Camp Freddy ever. :S
(I'll be back!)

Gotta say I don't like desperate housewives and I also don't watch Lost. There's not a lot that I watch. I tend to gravitate to a lot of british television the most. My fav not to miss each week right now is Coupling, it's hilarious.

Billy, I didn't know you wrote on the modern guitar website, until about a week ago when Jez gave us the link over on the panic community. I've been enjoying reading what you have to say about guitars on there.
I've been reading about the new Les Paul, that you can record each string seperately.
Doesn't that do your head in? I'm not greatly technologically savvy, but I do understand most of it...just can't think of some of the jargon when I'm trying to write/talk about it! I tend to 'talk' with my hands in person. Is it somewhat like a synth with strings? Trying to imagine it.
What do you think about it?
I find it fascinating that NAMM was all about hi-tech, and the same time that people like John Frusciante are recording totally acoustic LPs ( I still call them LPs :D );
and using analogue.
Along those lines, I just managed to get one of those old 70's stereograms, and it sounds awesome. My old records, I love the sound of them on that thing.
(I have more questions but I'll start with that) I did ask once about a Gibson my son wants to get, but I'll get to that another time. I thought because you didn't answer that question before, that maybe you couldn't. Oops. Apologies!!!
Also, different topic~You've grown your hair!!!
Looking great. Wow!!! :D

Ack!! I'm on the wrong coast! Not for long, though. :)
Hope the Key Club show is a good time & raises a TON of money! Billy, were you ever able to work out a way for those who cannot attend to donate?
I liked Dust as well. Regarding CF Radio, gotta say the rapport between you & Dave really comes through over the air waves & it makes for hilarious entertainment!
Desperate Housewives, huh? I've got to find time to turn on my tv one of these days...

Oh, it's also that my guitar teacher has a Gibson, and ever since he brought it out (1st lesson) I've bloody wanted one. :D
He said I should get a Gibson, that was made in the 90's, I think he said the Nighthawk.
Something like that, because you can play all different styles on it. I'm not in a position to spend tons of cash on different guitars, yet of course that guitar is tough to find now.
(see? i can't shut up can I? just had a cup of coffee!!)

I feel like I haven't been here consistently in ages. Between planning my trip to France (want anything Francais Billy???) and working hard, I haven't had as much time to post. But--I have gotten hooked on Lost. At first I thought I wouldn't like it, but it certainly reeled me in. Desperate Housewives is pretty good too. I have seen several episodes. The show that surprised me as being good was Boston Legal. I really enjoyed it. It is quite witty and the characters are good...surprisingly William Shatner is fantastic in it, as well as James Spader.
I also enjoyed the new song, "Dust". I thought it was excellent. Well, better go off and decide what I need to buy in France...chocolates, shoes.....
