IN AND OUT!

Juliette_billy_and_joanNow THAT is the way to do a show!! The cars picked us all up at 3pm, and drove us to a private aviation terminal in Burbank, where we walked straight on to a Gulfstream G4 Jet. No waiting about, the jet takes off, and an hour later, touches down in Vegas, where we are driven straight to soundcheck. We soundchecked for a LONG while, due to some of the new songs and different guests we had. Then a quick shower, hang out for an hour or so in the room, and then it was 'Showtime!!' Once the show was over, we hung out with everyone for an hour in the green room, and then we were driven back to the jet, and flew home. In and out in 12 hours!! Wonderful!

The actual show was such a blast. The full set list was as follows:-
Ballroom Blitz, 20th Century Boy, Brass In Pocket (Macy Gray), Rapture (Macy Gray and Tone Loc), Wild Thing (Tone Loc), Aint Talking Bout Love (Juliette Lewis and Tony Canal), Search And Destroy (Juliette Lewis), Should I Stay (Billy Duffy), Jailbreak (Jerry Cantrell and Billy Duffy), Man In The Box (Jerry Cantrell), Xzibit Jam (with......er.....Xzibit!), I Wanna Be Sedated (Scott Weiland), Bodies (Scott Weiland and Steve Jones), Pretty Vacant (Joan Jett and Steve Jones), Bad Reputation, (Joan Jett and Jerry Cantrell) and I Wanna Be Your Dog (with a stage full of everyone!!)

I used the digital guitar on a couple of songs (but used it as a 'normal guitar - ie, just plugged straight into my amp) and it was pretty cool. Its not my choice of color, so using a blue guitar felt a little stange. And if I was to use one seriously, I would not only need a black or a white one, but I would be wanting to change the pickups, as it sounded a lot different to my usual guitars. But it stayed in tune, the neck felt really good, and I'm looking forward to using it to its full digital potential in the studio.

Highlight of the night? Too many to really pick one, but I know that playing with Joan Jett was fantastic. That girl knows how to rock. And Wild Thing with Tone Loc was awesome. The jam that we played with Xzibit was cool - we just made it up at soundcheck and it worked a treat - he was on fire. But most of all, the highlight for me is just laughing so much with everyone during the whole trip. We really get on with each other, and it is ALWAYS such a laugh when we do this. I'm looking forward to the 27th show at The Key Club - I wanna see the whole place bouncing up and down!!

Gotta dash - need more sleep!! Take it easy everyone and see ya tomorrow.

Peace

Billy

hey billy, it sounds like it was a good time.

I have a question: when you say "Should I Stay" Billy Duffy... does he just play on the song or does he sing it? If not, who sings?

quicklike, I"m I flip back to my work screen ;)

Thanks for the update, Billy!!
Thanks, too, to flamingheart for the links to the pics...Damm my eyes!!

jezzi(Who are those blondies dancing on stage, wire image is identifying them as being with the band)

The show sounds like a blast - did I read correctly at 6767 that there was a porn convention at the same time? Busty blondes all around - I'm sure there were more than a few "happy campers" on stage that night! lmao

Tina - Duffy's on guitar for "Should I Stay", I believe our Doheny Family patriarch Mr. Morrison handles vox on the classic Clash tune..

Blondes all around, when the music is loud...

Thanks Jay, would love to hear Duffy sing though he'd probably say, I can't sing ;b

Hmmm should we be calling billy Dad???? ;)

Morning all from a very cold, and snowy wet me. We had another snowstorm last night. If anyone wants some snow, I'm more than willing to ship some out to you. ;)

That's okay Tina. Thanks for the snow offer..but we've got plenty of rain and mud and the army doing some practice manouevers to make up for it. My head hurts. They aren't even close, and it sounds like a war zone.

Oo

Tina, I know you wanted to share your snow, but did you have to send it my way????

We got 6 inches last night and there's more on the way. Schools and roads are closed and I sweet talked my way outta work today!!

:-)

The roads really are bad though, and it's only supposed to get worse in the next 24 hours. Snowball anyone?

Sorry to break up he all female post...

Billy,

I posed the same question to dave.. and maybe i have missed a post or two, but is there a way we can help contribute to the fund you are putting together for the show 27th? I was thinking maybe we could purchase a video ... or just make some sort of donation or whatever?

As I have said 1000 times being stuck in middle america where nothing cool happens blows ass!

Much love billy hope all is well.

That digital Les Paul is gorgeous. I would kill to get one in a bubblegum pink pearl.

Also, imagining you on stage with Xzibit makes me giggle. He is the man.

And yes, snow sucks. It's all slushy and gross here, and it actually started eating my pant cuffs.

Salt + Sand + Diesel Jeans = Sad Amber.

Lisa, pookiebear, I'm fine, glad to see you're back. I's missed ya tons. ;)

Heidi ;b I believe in sharing all the things I don't like. ;b But unlike you I had to go into work today, not fair. ;b

My philosophy is if I have to work, then everybody has to work. ;b

45 mins to go then i'm off till monday, it can't come fast enough.

stuff,
me

ppsstt heidi,

Who's your daddy????

Posted by: tina at January 7, 2005 11:45 AM

Tina & Heidi - I'd love to take some snow. The mysterious "they" keep predicting terrible weather, including snow, and I get all excited, cuz I do love snow, and then we don't get anything. What fun is winter if it's not gonna at least snow a little? Cold and rainy is really the pits. Eastern PA just sucks all the way around.

Who's your Daddy? (!!!!!! lmao)

Got this in my Kerrang mail update:
"VELVET REVOLVER
LOCK UP YOUR DAUGHTERS! LA'S SLEAZIEST SONS ARE BACK..."

Made me laugh. And hey, if you have any questions for Slash, UK people....give them to Kerrang. :D

Love pookie bear Lisa "Daddy's Girl" xxxx

Come to think of it...with Matt Sorum over here..people may want to lock up their daughters!!! :P
Man, a few weeks back when he was on CFR, and I was trying to phone in, for some reason him being there was making me kind of nervous...if i actually got through...can't even remember why exactly, but it was something to do with him alluding to his sexual exploits..

Posted by: ylais at January 7, 2005 05:20 PM

i mean i wasn't sure i could handle talking to him...with the so direct approach there...something like that...

Posted by: ylais at January 7, 2005 05:22 PM

Is this us yet Tina?

http://www.ebaumsworld.com/beerfridge.html

LMAO...

Darn near 10 inches of snow in the last 24 hours...

Snowball fight anyone?

Snow angel?

Snow cone??? (not the yellow ones though) ;-)

Posted by: flamingheart at January 8, 2005 12:08 AM

hahahaha!!!! Heidi...that's too funny!! Excellent example of "when you can't beat em, join em" Someone was making the best of the situation!! lol (not used to the all this rain here....but I guess things COULD be worse!!!!!)

Posted by: Abby at January 8, 2005 01:30 AM

it's not us here yet heidi, you seem to be getting more snow than we are at the moment, looks good on you.

You know Billy, I could always ship some snow to you, I know you miss it. ;)
