DREAM DUNKS!!

DreaamdunksI'm so glad that I chose to play guitar when I was younger. Because having watched how hard people who lay carpet work, I could NEVER do that!! The place is still a bombshell, but it looks great now. I am putting the studio back together today, and then its off to rehearsal with Doheny this afternoon. I will be able to enter the weekend with a fully operational work space - I am very excited about this. Of course, now the work has piled up, with the studio being out of commission for two days. But I will get a ton of stuff done this weekend and catch up with myself. Oh joy of joys!!!

How are you guys doing? Its the NAMM show soon, and I will be going down there for a couple of days to see the people at Gibson, Audio Technica and a few other places. Its a HUGE place, if you havent been. If you have any interest in making music at all, you HAVE to go. Miles and miles of the latest equipment, tons of musicians wandering around playing Stairway To Heaven on flutes, pianos, bassoons.....such an experience! I will be around so PLEASE say hi if you are there. I know that Dave will be down there on one of the days, so no doubt I will pop over and annoy him for 10 minutes!!

Ylais - Step AWAY from the sneakers!! Dont even start - its like tattoos!! You get one pair, just the one. Then another pair slip into your closet unannounced. And before you know it, you're getting on a plane to Tokyo to try and find the elusive purple and white reverse '99's that are impossible to find. Maybe I should start a Sneakers Anonymous meeting!! And regarding the Robert Knight print - I cannot imagine anyone paying very much!! I sincerely hope someone buys it for the charity as it is a great cause, but I dont see it going for very much. I mean, who wants a nearly lifesize print of me in their house???!

I really should stop droning on here and start plugging things in. I am still surrounded by miles of cable! So I am going to get to it - rehearsals this afternoon - THAT makes me happy!! Have a fantastic day folks, and I'll be back at the weekend (probably all frustrated cos I cant get the studio to actually work!!) Peace and Love to all -

Billy

Have fun at rehearsals. Glad that carpet got laid. :D
(why is it lately that everything I write about is turning out sounding rude, like I'm on Benny Hill?)

Billy~Taunting me with the sneaks!! :O
Shame on you. Step away from them, but here's a pic for you! :P

I'd buy that photo if I were there.
So there must be someone else there who will.
I'm guessing I'd get outbid though by some flash person, with lots more cash than I have.

Love and hugs

i totally understand the tattoo analogy. i got my first ink done about 3 months ago and already i'm itching for more. and, yes, i too have been checking out the dunks on ebay, though i doubt they'd ever be able to compete with my blossoming chuck taylor collection. i guess my point is that we're all headed for sneaker oblivion here.

Tattoos are SO addicting...I just need to figure out where I'm putting my next one...lol

Billy, you'll appreciate this...Some friends of mine got one of those fancy "make ur own at home" machines from Starbucks. It's dead easy to make whatever drink you can imagine and they bought every syrup under the sun to go with it. I was meeting her (in the freezing cold snow) to go dog walking this morning. When I talked to her at 8am, she asked me what kind of coffee I wanted!! So I pretty much got a Starbucks delivery right to me this morning. :-) It was GREAT! I could SO get used to that...lol

Hmmmm...slow day...

Maybe everyone is all consumed by Dave's new Panic Community...that place is off the rails.

Gonna miss CFR tonight :-( But I'll listen later after my dinner guests go home.

Ciao monkeys!

Hi Billy, I have my mind on the NAMM show, did I just discover this scene, is it true that there are lots of guitar players in Anaheim on that weekend? Do you have any tips on how a single girl can spot them in their natural habitat?

I promise not to disturb them, I just like to watch,so, any help would be appreciated

love,
jezzi

I was just listening to CFR, and I got through on the phone, and chatted with Donovan for a bit, he put me on hold, but then when he picked up the phone again he hung up on me. I think I may have insulted him, but I thought I was on the air talking to you and Dave.

Anyway, I called back to clear it up, and say sorry. But I didn't get a chance to. I don't think he liked the question I was going to ask on behalf of the chatroom gals so he slammed down the phone.
It was only a silly goofy (and friendly) joke anyway. Not a dig at anyone.

I've just spent ages on the phone from the UK, on hold for two phone calls to CFR. I wasn't only going to ask that question anyway. I wanted to say hi from the UK really.

After you guys were talking about drugs and sex and lots of rude stuff, I didn't think that it was an out of context question.

I did identify myself as well right away as being Ylais, and Lisa from 6767 calling from Wales, and also when he next picked up as in the Doheny chat room.

Plus, I used to work as a DJ in the States, so I know what's not allowed. I wouldn't have gone too far. Whatever. I'm kind of upset.

This is John Zorn's infamous turn-on-a-dime band.

I, unfortunately, also missed CFR as I was enroute back from NYC during the show. Sorry you didn't get through Ylais...Maybe it was just an accident that he hung up. There's always next week, I guess :)
Hope everyone is having a nice weekend!
