OVERWHELMED!!
Good morning everyone. I have to say that I was overwhelmed at the chat last night - I was wondering how many people would actually show up!! And you guys outdid yourselves. And you are all sweet, funny, polite and friendly. Very cool to see new faces there as well - I love that the Doheny Family is getting bigger. Spread the love, people!!
Its day one of my holiday time - and I dont know what to do already!! I can see it getting very expensive, as I start to buy things to keep me occupied!! Retail Therapy has always been my favorite pastime. I make myself laugh sometimes - I keep lists of things....all kinds of things....things I need to do, things I want, movies I want to see.....God, I really am weird sometimes!!
You know, I need to ask you all to spare a thought over the next week or so, for those that are less fortunate than us. For instance, we tend to forget that even having a computer is a luxury that many people dont have. So just the fact that we are all able to be a part of an online community, and have fun listening to music, posting pics, going to shows.....its all WAY more than a lot of people get to do. I'm not preaching - I just felt the need to express my gratitude for what I have, and who I have in my life, and wanted to ask you all to do the same. Doheny is not, and never will be, a negative band. There is enough of that already. We are about the positive, the good times, moving onwards etc. Cliched maybe, but true to our hearts. So be aware over the holidays - if you can, be nice to someone, buy someone a cup of coffee, give someone a smile. In other words - Spread The Love!! Er........ I sound like Timothy Leary!! Next thing will be me driving around the USA in a multicolored school bus, tripping on acid, and forming communes on waste ground. But I suppose we could all have naked love-ins!!
One bit of news - I spoke to Mike Clink yesterday (producer of the Camp Freddy album). He has been tied up for a couple of months, but he told me that he is freeing up now, and that work on the CF record can resume in the New Year. This is great news, as we already have a few guests recorded. I'm looking forward to getting the rest of them on the record, mixing the thing, and getting it out there. Its taken a while, but I PROMISE you, it is well worth the wait.
Well, I suppose I should get down to Starbucks. The Gingerbread Latte is calling me. Thank you all again for chatting last night - and I know that 2005 will be a good year for all of us. Came across this pic of me and Slash this morning. Hmmm....short spikey blond or long black? Not sure. I'll be back tomorrow with more 'thoughts from the left side of my brain'. Until then.....
Peace
Billy

Ah, Billy, reason number 35 why I love you..
Doing something for people less fortunate is such an ego boost...I remember reading that's how Princess Di got into humanitarian work, it was the only thing that lifted her out of depression about her own life..
I love that even though you have a roof over your head, and special people in your life, you remember when you didn't
ok...enough Billy gushing....Happy Monday Doheny Family...

mr Leary, uh....Bill :)
diggin yer right-side flow, and without the coffee...
...especially the sentiment about having access to the comps....and Spreading the LOVE~ the world always needs more, and on the other 364 days of the year, all over, under, around...every day. I to this day am, amazed when you(plural) say something only to be helpful to someone, online, or in the real world, and s/he auto-jumps to a negative conclusion/interpretation. If I could fix this one thing, or wish for it to change, that would be my first one for 2005. Think we all hafta look on the up-side of our thoughts and each other, and each others thoughts, and get to the laughter and happiness and just the good vibes, and forget the ego-based thinking, and actions, well, for the most part, at least not having it as a starting point for yer view of people, and the world. We've all been hurt, and down, but we don't have to create pain because we are in pain, not easy, but true. Compassion and positive thinking heals all. I, for one, really believe that......thank-you. :) Thats my 'Leary' voice-under addition for this morning.....
and the naked love-ins sound great, btw.
there's just not enough of that anymore is there!? ;p lol
the chat was fun, thanks Bill,Sean, and Doheny peeps.....for putting up with my nonsense... :)
CF album news- yeah! (james hetfield style)
got my own little holiday message for All, whether i've met you on here or not, the sentiment is for you...just click on my name.

My head hurts. Dentist. Anaesthetic. Needles in my head. Drills.
Abrasions. Stumbling out of dentist's chair. Feeling like Dudley Moore in 10.

acacia, I know I wouldn't mind living in the commune with the naked love-ins, especially if a certain Mr Duffy was part of the commune as well. ;)

"Hmmm....short spikey blond or long black?"
The contrast of black hair with blue eyes? Perfect pairing, in my book.

Long hair! Rock is back!
Wheeeeee....lol
(yes, I'm over caffeinated and I just spent an hour in the car with VR cranked to 20...) :-P

Billy, I've just read over the chat transcript and I see you asked where about in Kent I'm from, but I completely missed that question during the live chat.
I live near Ashford in mid-Kent, but I was born in Farnborough hospital near Orpington; my Dad was raised near Sidcup, and my Mum in Ickenham in Middlesex. Both worked in London, I think my Dad worked in the Elephant & Castle area and my Mum in Euston.

Do you phone them on Xmas day?
Do you miss anything UK at this time of year?

Hey Billy how's it going sir?
That's great news about the CF record! I'm looking forward to the show next month at the Key Club! :)
Thanks so much for the chat transcripts Karen! It was fun to read! It was very cool that Sean came in, too! Great sense of humor that guy has :)
It's been a bit crazy for me lately and I missed the chat :( next time though!
I so agree about remembering the less fortunate.. not just now during the holidays but throughout the whole year we have the opportunity to send some positive energy in the cosmos.
love to all!
