HANGOVER CURE

Band2I feel like I've been a few rounds in the ring with Tyson. Kinda like I'm hung over (which is difficult to do, when you haven't had a drink in years!!) I think my cure is to play PS2 all day until I have to go out. It was a long day yesterday, what with the soundcheck, the photosession, the show, and dealing with all the equipment afterwards (our regular crew guys are away on tour right now). And it was HOT - that kind of stinging sweat pouring into your eye type hot. But I know that some of the Doheny family were in attendance, AND they were wearing the Doheny tee shirts. THANK YOU - you make me a happy man. We had a good time onstage - played Dust again (the acoustic song which I love, and which we have dropped from the last few shows) and felt a good energy between us. Robert Knight came down and shot the band (check out the Doheny Pics 2 link) and we have another shoot with him tonight - this time in his studio. He is a great photographer and I cant wait to see what he does with us.

Heres the rest of the questions answered for anyone thats interested.

1. CHOCOLATE OR VANILLA?
A: Chocolate. But Banana in a milkshake. And Strawberry if its on a naked body.

2. WHAT BOOK ARE YOU READING?
A: Scartissue – Anthony Keidis’ story.

3. EAST COAST OR WEST COAST?
A: West Coast. Except for Fall – then its East Coast all the way.

4. WHAT'S ON YOUR MOUSE PAD?
A: Indie 103.1. It’s a freebie from the station!

5. FAVORITE BOARD GAME?
Monopoly. I love the way that board game can turn best friends into worst enemies!!

6. PJ's OR NEKKID?
A: Absolutely 100% as God made me.

7. OLDEST HABIT?
A: Smoking cigarettes. Disgusting habit that I cling to for dear life.

8. LEFT OR RIGHT?
A: Well, it depends where you want to go.

9. GRANDE OR VENTI?
A: Make it a large one. Always Venti – (in fact, always the biggest anything!!)

10. WHAT DID YOU DO LAST NIGHT?
A: Played the Roxy on Sunset with Doheny. Did a photoshoot with Robert Knight. Came home and ate a bunch of crap in bed, as I hadn’t eaten anything else all day.

11. CAN YOU TOUCH YOUR NOSE WITH YOUR TONGUE?
A: No, but I hear Gene Simmons can touch his cheekbones with his!!

12. WHAT INSPIRES YOU?
A: A desire to create, and to have other people touched by my creations. Books, music, film – I will embrace any format that allows me to tell the stories I want to tell or lets me feel emotions that I don’t otherwise feel.

13. BUTTERED, PLAIN, OR SALTED POPCORN?
A: Butter and salt together. Best popcorn in LA is at The Arclight theatre.

14. FAVORITE CAR?
A: 1970 Dodge Charger – Orange and black. Or the new Bentley Coupe.

15. LENO OR LETTERMAN
A: To be honest, neither. I met Jay a few times and he’s a nice guy, very friendly. But I wouldn’t choose to watch either show.

16. HOW MANY KEYS ON YOUR KEY RING?
A: Four. Car, House, Elevator and Building.

17. CAN YOU JUGGLE?
A: Ha!! No!!! Well, actually, I was pretty good at juggling girlfriends when I was single.

18. WHO WOULD YOU HATE TO BE TRAPPED IN A ROOM WITH?
A: All my ex-girlfriends. Or maybe Martha Stewart. That would be a nightmare.

19. FAVORITE PERFUME?
A: Royal Water (on men) and

20. DOGS OR CATS?
A: Dogs by far. I love dogs and a lot of my friends here have them, so I get to play around with them. It seems that dogs and kids love me – both like to climb all over me and lick my face. Don’t know what that means, but its very cute!!

21. FAVORITE PLACE TO VISIT?
A: Bangkok. Very cool for about a week and then its Hell!!

22. FAVORITE RESTAURANT?
A: Nobu – absolutely the best Sushi short of Japan. Baja Fresh is also ranking pretty highly with me right now!

23. VINYL OR CD?
A: CD. Vinyl takes up too much space and sounds horrible.

24. FLY OR DRIVE?
A: Flying. Hate driving long distances. Give me a G5 jet anytime.

25. FAVORITE SIDE OF THE BED?
A: All of it. The bigger the bed, the more I’ll take.

26. CAN YOU ROLL YOUR TONGUE?
A: Yeah. Years of listening to Johnny Rotten singing helped me develop that dubious talent.

27. STRIPES OR POLKA DOTS?
A: Stripes. Make you look thinner.

28. CARNIVORE OR HERBIVORE?
A: I am a vegetarian that eats steak!!

29. MUPPETS OR SESAME STREET?
A: Muppets rule!! Muppets will kick Sesame Streets ass any day. Bring it on, Big Bird.

30. FAVORITE TYPE OF MONKEY?
A: Cheeky ones.

Thats it from me today. Thank you to all who came to the show last night - I hope you had a good time. For anyone in LA - seminal UK weirdo band Psychic TV (all piercings, body modifications and ritualistic imagery) are playing at The Knitting Factory tonight. I, for one, will be there. I'm off to have a snooze.

Sounds like you had a rocking evening Billy. Funny questions. I laughed at the Gene Simmons thing. I think I could give him a run for his money, I realized I have a freakishly long tongue. And Fall on the east coast is quite nice. All trees here around Philly are just turning to gorgeous shades of yellow and red. It's the raking that's a pain in the ass. And maybe I need to get a PS2...Of course then I really won't have a life. I remember watching people playing Grand Theft Auto (I would have to get Vice City)..and laughing at the people in it getting beaten..especially those random old ladies. I guess we're all masochists at heart...How lovely.
Also--happy voting everyone!

Billy!!! Forget GTA, get Madden 2005, that way YOU can control the Raiders' destiny!!

Hey, If I can get to Vegas on Thursday, can I sneak into Camp Freddy concert, I am going to keep asking, :)!!

The new Grand Theft is hysterical. Car jacking people and then driving the car off a roof never gets old. Madden 2005 is awesome too. Then again, Madden is great every year. I only play games sparingly nowadays...i am deathly afraid of a gaming-related relapse.

You see....sometimes these games can be so goddamn addicting...i remember a few years back, i had just finished college and was looking for a job. As a result, I had a lot of time on my hands - so what did i do? I bought the Madden game out at the time. Jesus, what a mistake. The game ruled my life! I locked myself in my room and played this game for like, 18 hours a day...only taking breaks for eating, shitting and sleeping. I swear to you it was video crack. Straight up. I actually stopped hanging out with my friends and pissed my girlfriend off to no end while i tried to concoct the perfect football team. I played drums in a band at the time and i kept telling some of the guys "uh, hey, why don't you lay down those guitar tracks your studio tonight...you know, i really don't need to be there for that". The game was so great, you could draft players, sign free agents, release players and you had to keep your team under the salary cap. It was amazing, no game at the time could do all that! I would stay up to 5 or 6 in the morning, notice that the sun was coming up, go to bed for 6 hours and do it all over again. It was great.

But, all good things must come to an end. My parents were like "hmmm...lovely. we help you get through college so you can lock yourself in your room and do nothing". I knew i had to stop, so i did. I sold the game. If i didn't, I would not have found a job, would have been broke, would have been kicked out of a band and worst of all, stopped gettting laid. Man, what a long post. Won't happen again.

Billy,

You mentioned putting "Dust" back in the set and I was wondering something. As a performer, how do you regain the momentum of a blistering set after the pace of the gig has been altered by an accoustic tune?

Thanks,
Jay

Tongue jokes all the way from Wales:
"One Cardiganshire farmer would never light a fire even in the middle of winter. Instead he used to suck a humbug and the rest of the family would sit round his tongue."

I'm yapping about this everywhere I go...(well so far on 6767, and now here..Hi Jez, we keep bumping into each other! :D)

John Lydon has a new show on here, and the first one was about Sharks. He went down in a shark cage in a wetsuit he designed himself to try to scare sharks away. There was a great white shark kept attacking the cage, and he was laughing. He's a nutter! In a great way! :D Next week he's out to meet gorillas in the wild. He loves animals, and he is so righteous. He said he was in awe of the shark. I love it! How brilliant is it having Jonnny doing an animal show?! With his PIL music playing in the background as well.
He just says the right thing. gets straight to the point, and loves people and animals. Yes, John Lydon fanatic here!

Love Lisa xxxx

Hey Billy,

Thanks SO much for indulging us and answering all 50 of our questions. I damn near fell of the chair when I read the last answer...CHEEKY MONKEYS! LOL I agree whole-heartedly with ZenTam, you're a GREAT sport.

Did you guys know that the ability to roll your tongue is based on genetics? The whole dominant/recessive gene thing... That must be one of the only things I still remember from Science class in high school...

Ciao for now!

PS - Be back home on Friday monkeys! See you then.
