27-24......ABOUT TIME!!
We won. Oh my God, we actually won!! The Raiders beat The Panthers yesterday, 27-24. Finally, they have broken the losing streak, got over the trials and tribulations of the early season, and played a great game of football. Now all they have to do is develop a defence that actually......defends!!
So Doheny have a new logo - and I love it!! See todays picture - I will get various versions up here over time, but its perfect for a whole batch of new artwork. It can be drawn anyway you like - and the idea is that you guys get creative with the DH logo and send us your version.
We are back in rehearsal today - no shows until Dec 2nd at The Key Club....and we are STILL waiting to see about other December shows. More news as we get it.
Karen - Our rider is just the usual stuff. Nothing special. Coffee, snacks, water, cigarettes for me....no Peruvian Virgins Blood or Aged Sheeps Brains for us!!
Jay - The footage from New York and Vegas has been logged and captured and made into a DVD for the band. I believe Dave has a clip from Steven's song, Whole Lotta Love, at this address -
http://www.6767.com/video/xxx.mov
Ylais - The CFR shows are being sent to TotalRock Radio in the UK, but I dont believe we have actually sent any yet. I will find out. And your Rider made me crack up laughing!!!
I had a few emails asking me about the Acoustic show I am doing for charity on Wednesday, so here are the details. It is a loose, intimate acoustic performance with myself and some friends, to benefit Help The Homeless, at The Falcon, 7213 Sunset Blvd, Hollywood, this coming Wednesday November 10th. We will be doing 6 or 7 songs acoustically (Donovan, Chaney, Cantrell, Duffy and Steve Stevens will be the band) and I believe Jon might come along and do a song with us. Tickets are $50 (remember - it is for charity) and are available by calling (213) 741 0325
Thats it from me today - I have to get over to my guitar guru, Brett Allen, in the Valley, who is changing the pick ups in my Camp Freddy Les Paul for me, and then get back over the hill for Doheny Rehearsals. I better get going - Have a great day everyone.
Peace
Billy

The logo is awesome... i have the sudden urge to incoperate it into some kind of new tattoo... either that a or a Doheny bling chain... donno where I would get that made though.
Glad all is well, try to record some of the acoustic show for us. I bet it will be awesome.
Thanks for the update on the Lit shows. If they get pushed out to January there is a chance I can come out. So i am kinda glad about the delay, but I think these could be huge shows for Doheny so I want them to happen with or without me.
Much love,
Pony

Like the new logo! Just me or has it got that phallic thing going on? (running away now)
"Piece of fruit cake luv? Go on, surely I can tempt you to a slice of Battenburg? 'S Doris's favourite, isn't it Doris? - She's not really s'posed to eat cake, but I've never seen anyone who can stuff whole eclairs in without biting"
(Sorry!)

Billy,
Cool new logo, congrats. I'll be putting it all over Oklahoma and northern Texas, spreading the love if you will.
Speaking of love, I had a Courtney/Cult question in regards to CF as well. I read an article with C-Love years ago where she expressed something to the effect of "She Sells Sanctuary" being one of the first songs she learned on guitar, see where I'm going here?
C-Love (vox only, leave the riffage to the fellas) with CF doing "She Sells Sanctuary".
Just a thought..
Enjoy your Monday.
Thank you,
Jay

RecklessPrincess - you beat me to it (no pun intended) but the new logo looks very phallic to me too...

I think the logo looks like someone flipping the bird. Which works for me.

I like the new logo, it's very simple and clean looking. A lot can be done with it, and it will look awesome on t-shirts. Think you've got a winner there Billy. Congrats to the designer.

Billy, What kind of new pickups are you putting into your Les Paul. Please give me the scoop on that? Looking forward to Dec2.

B,
Guessing the pickups in the CF Les Paul would be that of the Seymour Duncan variety, right Billy?

Billy~you've got to add some tea ladies to that rider list!
Thanks for letting me know which radio station it is in UK. I heard you say it several times on CFR, but when I went to look for it, I'd forgotten. Must have been all the drooling I was doing writing my rider.
I almost screamed (with excitement) when you asked Adam to call you on CFR. Became a teen ant suddenly again.
Cool you played Ants Invasion too. :)

I'd like to see a pic of you and Steve Stevens from the show on Wednesday. :-)

This is so funny, Lisa spent nearly a week trying to do a logo that did not look Phallic, and you go and choose a great logo that looks phallic, Oh the irony of it all. LOL.

I also said to Lisa that I like that one and she said no It looks too Phallic.....That will teach her to listen to me.

OK here an update...
I played drive me and watching it all burn during the event. Most of the class had here me talk about dh some, but never heard them. At least 5 people came and asked me about them once they heard the music.
I know 5 people isn't a big deal... but I very happy to just help the cause.
Keep the music coming billy... if you build it... THEY WILL COME!!!

Hey, I like the Doheny logo (even if it is a tad phallic...). And it provided me with some fun for a bit when I played with it in my photoshop program. Okay, enough wasting time...time for me to go to work.
