EVE OF DESTRUCTION
I'm giving you all a quick update from The Village Studios in Los Angeles, while the studio engineers burn the final mix of the track we've been working on. The song is an old 60's hit called Eve Of Destruction. My good friend, Michael Des Barres had been talking to Jeff Greenberg, who owns The Village, and they called me up a couple of weeks ago and asked me if I would be interested in collaberating on a reworking of the song, with all the proceeds going to help the troops overseas. I of course said yes, and we called in the powerhouse rythym section from The Panic Channel, Steven Perkins and Chris Chaney. We tracked the song last week, and I have been in the studio all day mixing. It sounds fantastic - I'll let you guys know how it will be released once we have the details worked out. Produced by myself and Michael, I handled all the guitars and a few backing vocals, Steven and Chris did the duties on drums and bass, and Mr Des Barres rocked out the lead vocal.
Keep your eyes peeled here for more news on the track.
Peace

SEATTLES FINEST!!
So check out the latest coffee to come out of Seattle! They've seen the light, given respect to their biggest customer, and developed our own brand of coffee - The Doheny brand, courtesy of our Karen! Genius piece of artwork - Thank you VERY much. It absolutely put a smile on my face after four hours of sleep!!
Popped into the chat room late last night and had a chat with ZenTam and Flaming Heart while I was working the late shift on these visuals for Thursdays show. Eventually got to bed at 3.00am, and woke up at 8.00am!! I have yet another fitting at 9.30am this morning (too many clothes Billy - STOP ordering shit!!) and then I will be in the studio mixing all day. As I STILL havent finished the video editing, it looks like I will be burning the midnight oil again tonight when I get back from the mix.
Holly - the special Camp Freddy broadcast on Thursday is from 7.00pm to 8.00pm Los Angeles time.
And to all the 'Sinus Drainers' out there - thank you for your support! Its actually not painful, and works wonders. I feel 100% now - well worth going to see him yesterday. But you are right.....no pics of the drainage on THIS blog, thank you very much.
I have to get outta here - running late already and my day hasnt started yet!! Take care everyone - thank you for your support. Hit me with some questions if you like - I'll have time to answer them tonight, while I am staring at the Studio monitors, waiting for Final Cut to render video files!! Even on a G5 it takes forever. Anyway - I'm outta here.
Peace

CROP CIRCLES
Good morning everyone. Looks like those aliens have been at it again. Check out the weird crop circles photographed over the weekend. Hmmm - what does it mean, I wonder? Anyway....
To answer Jays question first - What are the days leading up to a show such as 12/02 like? Well, you are right - its definately not show up and play! Today I have two fittings for some clothes, a rehearsal and I have to go see the Rock Doc at some point. Need to get my sinuses drained - that cold left me blocked and I need to be able to sing on thursday. Tomorrow I am in The Village studio's all day and night, mixing the track we recorded last week for the Troops overseas. (I'll find out if I can drop some details about that). Wednesday, we have a Camp Freddy meeting, followed by more Doheny rehearsals. Thursday is the Doheny show and Friday is the Camp Freddy show. I also need to find some time to finish the visuals I have been working on for the Key Club show. On the day of the show, I will be at the venue for most of the day, soundchecking, working on some lighting cues, doing the extra Camp Freddy Radio broadcast etc. Hope that gives you some idea of how it goes.
Hope you all had a good weekend - I need to 'Step away from the Playstation, Mr Morrison' and get some work done!! And what about those Raiders??!! NOW they start winning? Jesus guys, why cant you do that at the beginning of the season? It was a crazy close game yesterday, but we beat Denver 25-24 with 19 seconds remaining. I dont need that kind of heart attack game, thank you very much!!
I'm going to sign off and try and get in to see my ENT guy this morning, before doing these fittings. And I'm looking forward to rehearsals this afternoon - I think we are ready to ROCK the Key Club on Thursday. Take care - have a great day, and see y'all tomorrow. I'll check with the guys at Rehearsal and get a date and time for another web chat, and I'll let you know in tomorrows post.
Peace

FEELING LIKE SUNDAY MORNING
Last nights CFR was a complete blast. It was great to have Matt in the studio with us, and the three of us had each other in fits of laughter! It was great to hear Jez and Karen get through, and I know you guys were in the chat room while we were on. Hope you were as entertained as we were!! And no Mortisha, we don’t think of you as stalkers. I know Dave’s 6767 Panic Agents are dear to him, and The Doheny Family is definitely very special to me.
Check out this piece of art from Tina – I LOVE it! Really creative and it looks so perfect! Thank you for doing it Tina and keep the good stuff coming.
Today I am working on some visual stuff for the show next Thursday. Don’t really want to say anything in case it doesn’t work out, but if my ideas do work, the show should look amazing! Gonna spend the afternoon seeing what I can come up with.
I love Kim’s Marmite in the Space Capsule thing!! That stuff NEVER goes off and I think it would freak people out, opening the capsule a thousand years from now and seeing a small jar of beef flavoured extract!! “Those guys were crazy”!!!
Big up to Jay for putting in the Pistols album – of COURSE people are going to need to be musically educated. And Tina – F911 would be very cool to stick in there – maybe stop people from doing it all over again.
By the way, you can hear the Indie 103.1 radio ad by pasting this url into your browser:-
http://www.dohenymusic.com/main/current_news.html#
Its posted on the main Doheny site (www.dohenymusic.com) in the news section. Features 'the guy with the voice'!!! He sounds so ......... intense!!
Got to go and do a bit more of GTA San Andreas before I start work. I’m halfway through the game and have a bunch more new ones to get into once I finish this one. I spend WAY too much time playing video games, but it shuts my head off and stops me working too hard. Well, that’s my justification and I’m sticking too it!! I’m off to steal more cars and blow some shit up….see y’all tomorrow.
Peace

WHERE DOES THE TIME GO?
Christ, its Saturday again.....that week went quickly. In fact its nearly 2005!! This year seems to have flown by. All the Doheny and Camp Freddy activity has just been a blur. But its been SO much fun. Building Doheny has been an amazing process for us - to have put the guys together and to hear the songs come out so well is just an amazing feeling. We've done some pretty cool shows this year and I think we are all proud of Doheny's first 12 months. And I am delighted that you have chosen to join in from the ground floor. Having the websites has helped the family atmosphere no end. This blog really will come in to its own next year when we will hopefully get on the road a little bit, and start to get around the country. Thank you to everyone who takes part here.
Today is another fun-filled, thrill-packed, too-good-to-be-true episode of Camp Freddy Radio. I believe we have our Rock Star drummer, Mr Matt Sorum, with us today. And the Billy and Dave tag team will be in full effect. What I need you guys to do is call Indie and request some Doheny. Watching It All Burn spent a couple of months on the playlist, but its about time we had another track on rotation. So get dialing, and ask to hear us.
Yes, we will be filming the Key Club show, and I am sure that either Karen, or White Pony, will host a few clips if I ask nicely. Give me a few days to edit a couple of clips together, and hopefully we will be able to share a few moments with everybody. I'm really looking forward to the show. California STILL hasnt made it into the set, but we will be doing a brand new track called Does It Really Matter - I love this song.....fast, anthemic, noisy rock and roll!!
Todays pic is a random that I stumbled across from a trip to Thailand a few years back. Dunno why I chose to post it - maybe cos I'm needing to take a holiday somewhere warm and distant.
So I want to leave you with one of my strange and wonderful questions!! Lets see if you are all thinking clearly on this Saturday. If you were putting a small time-capsule together, to be buried and discovered a thousand years from now, what what you put in it, and why? Have fun and see you all here tomorrow.
Peace

HAPPY THANKSGIVING
Hi everyone. Just a quick post on this holiday to wish everyone a great Thanksgiving. I hope everyone has a relaxing day, and then goes out into the sales like crazy people tomorrow!!
Not a lot of responses recently - Must be that when I got sick, everyone migrated elsewhere, in case it was catching!! But I'm 100% again - so dont be afraid kids......come join the slightly twisted, occasionally dysfunctional, but eminently loving Doheny family. We take everyone here.
Me? I just went to see the ridiculously good looking Jared Leto in Alexander (not bad.... a bit long, but not bad. Killer battle scenes) and I might pop up to Daves later on for some Trad Holiday vibe. To you all, I hope your Turkey is done to perfection!! See y'all tomorrow.
Peace

NORMAL SERVICE IS RESUMED
First of all, I want to apologize for not posting more regularly. When I am sick, I just want to crawl into a hole, and hide from the world. So I do!!! But the good news is that I am feeling WAY better now – I just have the final stages of it, which is nothing to how I felt a few days ago. I want to thank everyone for all the Get Well messages, virtual cards and emails that I received. You truly are a wonderful lot.
I actually did some work yesterday. We spent the day in The Village recording studios, recording a track that might get released to aid the troops overseas. I cant say too much right now, in case it doesn’t happen. When I get the OK to give you guys some details, I will. It was a fun session, and I’ll be back there next week sometime to mix the song.
Now then – Anyone who tells you that you can’t get advance tickets for next Thursdays Key Club show is wrong!! Here is the number to call – 310 274 5800. That’s the Box Office number. We are rehearsing later this week, and early next week, trying to finish the process of adding a new song to the set, and re-working a couple of older ones. The band sounds so good right now – I’m really excited to play next weeks show, and really looking forward to sharing the bill with Dave’s band. The Panic Channel are an awesome band and it should be a great night.
Not really a lot else to report – life tends to slow down to a crawl when you lie in bed for a week, staring at bad daytime movies on the Lifestyle Channel!! I want to wish everyone who reads this a very happy Thanksgiving – be safe over the holiday, and don’t do anything I wouldn’t do….which leaves it WIDE open for you!! I’m staying in town this weekend, so no doubt I will be posting my usual ramblings. Until tomorrow, have a beautiful day.
Peace

DECEMBER 02nd 2004
I wanted to put some details up here about the advance tickets for The Key Club show. Available from The Key Club box office for $10.31, but on the day of the show, it will be $1.03 with a can of food to help feed the homeless. If you buy an advance ticket, PLEASE still bring a can of food - you dont have to, but the whole point is to help people less fortunate. Originally we were not going to do any advance sales, but the interest in this show has been huge, so the club wanted to try and avoid mad lines to get in on the night.
Todays pic is of the Guitar Center in Naperville, with my Robert Knight photograph outside!! Very weird to see that.
Popped into the chat room during CFR last night (I missed hanging with Dave and Dono last night!!) and found a bunch of you guys chatting away. Sorry I couldn't stay for too long - I just felt so rough. But it was great to know that you all were in there, listening as you posted. I listened to the show too - dont get to actually hear the show usually, as I'm on it!! Its some funny shit!! Totally random topics, and great music. I really wanted to go down to the station, but it would have been stupid to spread the germs.
And finally, check out the Doheny trading cards in the Your Artwork 3 section. I LOVE them!! Always wanted to be on a trading card. Next thing is to get my own 'action figure'!!! Have a great day people -
Peace

THE WAR OF THE HATS
Ok people. To clarify exactly what a beanie is, I have posted a pic of me in a Versace beanie. They are knitted winter hats with a turn up that has a logo on it. (Although that particular one is in a heavy knit and has a long, smurf-like top that hangs over the back! But you get the idea.) These are not the tight fitting knitted skull caps that A+F do (come on Jay - do you think we would do such a thing?!!) but the type of hat that just about every band has in its merch catalogue. We cant please absolutely everyone, but overwhelming opinion is that these would be a cool next item. So I will make some enquiries about getting some done next week. Stay tuned.
My pic went up outside Guitar Center in Naperville, Il yesterday. Thats just outside Chicago. So if you live anywhere near, go print out the Doheny dice from our main site (www.dohenymusic.com) and stick it up on the wall next to the picture and take a shot of it!!
I'm still feeling rough, so I'm keeping it brief again. Just wanted to say hi to everyone and hope you all have a great weekend. If you are looking for something to do this weekend, go check out photographer Michael Muller's exhibition, called Superfamous. I went to the opening and the prints are just amazing. Michael has shot Doheny and is a dear friend, so get down to Lo-Fi and check it out. Here's the details. "Superfamous" runs through December 25 at Lo-Fi Gallery, 1038 North Fairfax Avenue, between Melrose Avenue and Santa Monica Boulevard, L.A. (323-654-5634 or mullerphoto.com).
Peace

IT LIVES!!!
Christ, that was a rough few days! I'm feeling a lot better this morning (thanks to all the Voodoo you guys sent my way) but I'm still not 100%. Another couple of easy days and I should be back to normal. I read all the Get Well Soon stuff and thank you all. Lots of Vitamin C advice, which I listened to.....lots of 'cut down the caffeine and nicotine' advice, which I ignored!! I feel completely out of the loop, so I cant wait until next week, to get a guitar on again and start rehearsing. I've done nothing except stay in bed and watch shit TV movies!!
All the lyrics you posted were great - isn't it amazing how we are all touched by music? The right sentiment over the right arrangement and it can really take me to another place. Thats what I love about playing music - I can be a part of that.
Not a lot to report, for obvious reasons. Its all about The Key Club show right now. Thank you to everyone who posted - Jon and I will be working on doing some Doheny knit beanies for Xmas, so hopefully we can get those ready soon. And we should do another online chat soon - let me speak to the band on Monday and see if we can sort out a time and date together. Thats it from me right now - back in the land of the living, and getting better.
Peace

SICK SICK SICK
Well, this cold/flu thing has kicked my ass. I have been wiped out in bed for two days, lost my voice and I feel like shit. I dont get sick very much but when I do, it floors me. I feel a little better today - well enough to get back on the computer anyway. But I hate being unwell - I'm not very good at it!!
I missed my first Doheny rehearsal yesterday - the other guys went in and jammed but I was just too messed up to go in. I figure I need to catch up on my rest and take it easy this week. Very hard for me to do - I naturally need to be working on something all the time.
Jezebel - We do have an agent. Contact Andrew Goodfriend at The Agency Group in Los Angeles.
Tina - My back tattoo took about 30 hours to finish. I did it in about 5 or 6 sittings.
Maria - Welcome to the Doheny family. Its a pleasure to have you here.
Skot - Unfortunately, its not possible to broadcast the actual show on Dec 2nd. What I meant is that in addition to our usual Saturday radio show, we will be doing a one-hour special live from inside the Key Club that day. No doubt the topic will be The Panic Channel, Doheny and The Tints, but there wont be any actual live music broadcast. Maybe we can hook that up next year.
The good news is that the new furniture arrived yesterday!! So I intend to curl up on the new sofa and stare at the TV all day long. Dave's band, The Panic Channel, play tonight, and I am hoping to be well enough to get down there and see them . Right now it doesnt look good, but a ton of Starbucks, Camels and DayQuil might change that. Todays picture is by Maryanne Bilham - and I love it. She takes a great photograph.
I have to get off this computer now - I'm starting to feel weird and need to lie down again. Thank you for all your get well messages and have a great day everyone. I want to leave you with a question - what is the lyric that touches you the most? What line, or lines from a song have made a difference in your lives?
Peace

FEELING A LITTLE WASTED
I feel like I haven't posted in days, but in reality its only been two days without a post. Weird. I have been waking up earlier and getting to bed later, and the lack of sleep is making me feel a little wasted. I keep trying to get some rest but there's so much going on every day that my mind wont shut off, even when I am in bed. I work too hard, and I don't spend enough time relaxing. Add to that the thousands of cigarettes and gallons of coffee I consume each week, and its no wonder I feel like shit this morning!! Whats the answer? I am not sure. I tell myself that I'll book two weeks on a beach somewhere soon, but I dont get around to it. Maybe at Xmas, I'll get outta Dodge and go hide somewhere for a while. Or maybe not.
Its the weekend again and that means Camp Freddy Radio. I think its a full house tonight, with Donovan , Matt and myself and Dave doing half the show. And I can tell you that we will be doing an extra 'one hour special' live on Thursday Dec 2nd from the Key Club show. Indie 103.1 are setting up the technology in the VIP room at the club and we will be broadcasting for an hour after soundcheck. Listen in to the radio show tonight for more details and a chance to win VIP passes for the night.
Doheny rehearsed yesterday, and the new songs are going to be great. 'California' is ready for us to start working on vocals, as is 'Does It Really Matter' (a favourite of mine) and we wrote a new song yesterday thats kinda like a Zepp/Rage/STP riff based song. Cant wait to hear what Jon does to it. Sean started playing this cool riff, and after about five minutes of messing with it, we had 70% of a song. Thats always a good sign - when it happens that quickly, there's usually something good going on.
So by popular opinion, we are not going to do trucker hats. We will look into doing some knit beanie hats this week - see if we can find a cool company to do some black ones with a white logo on the front. Dont say we don't listen to you guys!!! And Lisa.....I use a Jim Dunlop 1mm tortoiseshell pick. They were nice enough to do me some signature ones. I have Doheny ones and Camp Freddy ones, with the band logo on one side and my signature on the other.
I'm off to go and sit on the floor in my living room - the new sofas were meant to arrive yesterday, so we called the Charity shop and had them come and take away the old one..........and the new ones didnt come!! So we have a weekend with nothing to sit on!! If my post has been a little rambling today, I apologize - I will try and get some rest this weekend and come back on Monday talking sense!!
Have a great day everyone. Oh....and check out Karen's anti drug poster in the Your Artwork 3 section - great work Karen! I love it.
Peace

ANGEL DUST
Hi everyone. So last night was a huge success. The Falcon on Sunset was packed, and I think the Charity did really well. I had been asked to put an acoustic band together for 6 or 7 songs, and so the usual suspects were gathered together for a quick soundcheck yesterday afternoon. Billy Duffy, Chris Chaney, Donovan Leitch, Jerry Cantrell, Michael Des Barres, Leif Garrett, Doheny's own Mr Jon Clayden and Yours Truly. I asked Dave, but unfortunately, he is really busy with stuff right now and was unable to attend. We ran through each song twice, but the dinner that they had laid on for us was calling loudly, so we abandoned trying to get it all sounding wonderful, and sat down to eat instead!!
The stage was covered in white candles and red rose petals - it looked amazing. At 9.00pm, we kinda ambled up on the stage and sat down - three acoustic guitars, one acoustic bass, some singers and our friend Gregg on percussion.
It actually sounded really cool. We opened with Bowie's Ziggy Stardust, into Alice In Chains Got Me Wrong, and then into an amazing version of The Cults Rain. Jon then came up onto the stage (I had taught Jerry, Billy and Chris the Doheny song, Dust) and we started playing. I was really nervous to see how our song sat in the set with all those great rock songs. And to my suprise, it went down a storm. Jon sang his ass off, Jerry and Billy sounded great doing their thing on Dust, and the audience hooted and hollered when we were done. Quite a special moment, being able to do a Doheny song with those guys.
The rest of the set was Bowie's Jean Genie, Velvet Underground's White Light, and a killer version of The Stone's Dead Flowers, that I sang with Mr Des Barres doing all the R+B high harmonies. It was a great night, we all had a lot of fun, and hopefully we were able to help some people who are not as fortunate.
LOVED your comments on pick-up lines. Personally, I was always straight up when I was single. "Excuse me. Don't get any ideas about commitment or anything....but would you be interested in a one-night only performance of Supreme Carnal Lust?" No wonder they all hated me!! But it was fun to read all your posts. And I agree - "Would you like a Starbucks?" is a winner for sure!!
I have a day of meetings today. I meet with photographer Robert Knight, to get all the proofs from the Doheny shoot last week, and I meet with the Key Club people about the show in a few weeks. Then I go to Indie 103.1 to organize the CFR show archives to be sent to the UK for Total Rock Radio. I do know that managers should do all this stuff, but I am a total control freak, and if I don't understand every detail, I think that things will go wrong - (and they usually do!) So I am the guy that gets involved, takes the meetings, makes sure he knows how its all coming together. That way, if its a disaster, I only have myself to blame. If any of you think I just step onto a stage and play the songs, think again!!
Have a great day everyone. The doors are open for more artwork, rogues gallery pics (dont think thats really working as I had imagined - maybe we should lose it.) and versions of the new logo. Jon and I talked about doing some trucker hats with the logo on them for merchandise - whaddya think? Its your family - do with it as you will. Till tomorrow.......
Peace

ACOUSTIC BENEFIT
Hi folks.
Today I am playing at a low-key intimate acoustic event at The Falcon in Hollywood, to benefit Help The Homeless. It will be a short 30 minute set with some friends, we'll do a few covers and I think Jon is coming down to do Dust with me. I'll get some pics, and let you know how it goes - I'm really looking forward to it.
Not a lot to report today - spent the day yesterday fielding phone calls and emails, working on the next Camp Freddy show, and the Dec 2nd TPC/Doheny show. And I cant lie - I spent a good portion of the day in PS2 land, running around San Andreas shooting people!! I also did an interview for Metal Hammer magazine in the UK - should be out in January.
A few questions -
Jay. I think you might have something there. Courtney and Duffy doing Sanctuary? Could be a winner. I'll remember it when we do the next show.
B. I am endorsed by Seymour Duncan pick ups and on every guitar that I use live, I replace the pickups with their Jeff Beck/59 combination. The JB goes in the bridge position and the 59 goes in the neck position. They sound nice and raw without being too hi end/hi gain. And the JB is very smooth sounding. Hope that helps.
Seems everyone likes the new logo -phallic overtones and all!!! Its perfect for tee shirts, badges, artwork. Feel free to mess with it and send me the results. We are trying to give you guys more to work with - new pics will be up early next week from Robert Knight as well. So I think thats it from me - let me dream up a question to ask you all................OK. Ive got it. What is the best pick-up line you have ever heard? What works for you - and what line would you use if you were trying to pick someone up?
Dont know why I thought of it, but I'd like to hear your answers. I'm off - see you later. Check out the cool lights on todays pic of Jon from the Rock N Republic fashion show last week.

27-24......ABOUT TIME!!
We won. Oh my God, we actually won!! The Raiders beat The Panthers yesterday, 27-24. Finally, they have broken the losing streak, got over the trials and tribulations of the early season, and played a great game of football. Now all they have to do is develop a defence that actually......defends!!
So Doheny have a new logo - and I love it!! See todays picture - I will get various versions up here over time, but its perfect for a whole batch of new artwork. It can be drawn anyway you like - and the idea is that you guys get creative with the DH logo and send us your version.
We are back in rehearsal today - no shows until Dec 2nd at The Key Club....and we are STILL waiting to see about other December shows. More news as we get it.
Karen - Our rider is just the usual stuff. Nothing special. Coffee, snacks, water, cigarettes for me....no Peruvian Virgins Blood or Aged Sheeps Brains for us!!
Jay - The footage from New York and Vegas has been logged and captured and made into a DVD for the band. I believe Dave has a clip from Steven's song, Whole Lotta Love, at this address -
http://www.6767.com/video/xxx.mov
Ylais - The CFR shows are being sent to TotalRock Radio in the UK, but I dont believe we have actually sent any yet. I will find out. And your Rider made me crack up laughing!!!
I had a few emails asking me about the Acoustic show I am doing for charity on Wednesday, so here are the details. It is a loose, intimate acoustic performance with myself and some friends, to benefit Help The Homeless, at The Falcon, 7213 Sunset Blvd, Hollywood, this coming Wednesday November 10th. We will be doing 6 or 7 songs acoustically (Donovan, Chaney, Cantrell, Duffy and Steve Stevens will be the band) and I believe Jon might come along and do a song with us. Tickets are $50 (remember - it is for charity) and are available by calling (213) 741 0325
Thats it from me today - I have to get over to my guitar guru, Brett Allen, in the Valley, who is changing the pick ups in my Camp Freddy Les Paul for me, and then get back over the hill for Doheny Rehearsals. I better get going - Have a great day everyone.
Peace

WHOLE LOTTA FREDDY
I am still in shock over the whirlwind trip to Vegas the last couple of days. It was another incredible experience for me, and although it was hectic, the actual show was amazing!! We played at Body English in The Hard Rock to open the new Chrome Hearts store in Las Vegas. And as usual, the Camp Freddy site will have a full update in a few days with a bunch of pictures. The line up for this show was very cool - Steven Tyler, Courtney Love, Scott Weiland, Billy Duffy, Slash, Duff McKagan, Steve Jones, Michael Des Barres, Jerry Cantrell......... and we blew the roof off the place!! SO much fun. Playing with Tyler is a huge blast - that guy is a legend, and so much fun to watch. A big thanks to Chrome Hearts for putting the thing on and love and respect to everyone that played with us.
WP - The LIT dates are still not confirmed. There was talk of us playing three or four shows with them at the end of December, but the agents are still working it all out, so who knows if they'll happen or not. If we get a confirmation, you will be the first to know.
Alchemy - I dont really paint or draw....but I love messing around with computer artwork. And I do write a lot. Bits of scripts, bits of a book, bits of lots of things. One day I will consolidate and actually publish something!
Jay - I will try and give you all a clue before CF shows happen. But the problem is that we REALLY dont know who is turning up before we get there. But I'll give you a heads up next time if I can.
Tonight is Camp Freddy radio with Donovan, Dave and myself, and I'm sure we'll be talking about the Vegas show. And Dave and I will be plugging the Dec 2nd show with Doheny, The Panic Channel and The Tints any chance we get!! Hope you tune in, or get it on the Indie Website. And I'll leave you with this - when a band plays a show, they get what's called a 'rider' - a list of items to be placed in the dressing room. Usually food, drink, etc. The most famous Rider incident is David Lee Roth requesting a huge bowl of M+M's with all the brown ones taken out!! So if you were putting together your rider, what items would you put on it? Have fun, and I'll see you soon.

SIN CITY....AGAIN!!
Im posting this on wednesday night, because I know that tomorrow will be hectic and I wanted to give the Doheny Family a shout before I go. It's the Camp Freddy show in Vegas tomorrow. We are launching the new Chrome Hearts store in Las Vegas. And the line up looks like its going to be insane. The planes leave LA in the afternoon and take us to the Hard Rock. We soundcheck, and then go to the store opening. And then its back to the Hard Rock for a midnight onstage. I'll make sure to get some pics and give you a full report.
Psychic TV - one word - weird!! Still as weird as he ever was, Genesis now has a beautiful set of breasts, a complete set of gold teeth (also known as "Put your money where your mouth is!), and made (believe it or not!) monkey noises into the mic all night. The band were great, and the projections were as amazing as they have always been. He's done one too many hits of acid, has our Gen, but he's still the leader of Psychic TV and that in itself is reason enough to go see them. Look up your music history, buy the book, Modern Primitives, and enlarge your musical vocabulary forthwith. Here endeth the lecture.
Robert Knight shot the band a couple of nights ago and we had a blast doing it. I cant wait to see the finished results - there is one in the Doheny Pics 2 section, with us looking all smart on a leather sofa!! Kind of Soprano's meets N-Sync!! I confess the sofa thing was my idea.....do we like the vibe or not?
Anyway, my eyes feel like they are bleeding from way too much Grand Theft Auto (San Andreas is just SICK!!) so I need to get my rest. CANNOT wait to do this Key Club show with The Panic Channel - I have a feeling its going to be a great night. Let me know you are all still out there.....and lets get more family members in here. Maybe we should dream up an initiation for prospects!! OK - now I know I am done. Outta here - Peace
Billy

HANGOVER CURE
I feel like I've been a few rounds in the ring with Tyson. Kinda like I'm hung over (which is difficult to do, when you haven't had a drink in years!!) I think my cure is to play PS2 all day until I have to go out. It was a long day yesterday, what with the soundcheck, the photosession, the show, and dealing with all the equipment afterwards (our regular crew guys are away on tour right now). And it was HOT - that kind of stinging sweat pouring into your eye type hot. But I know that some of the Doheny family were in attendance, AND they were wearing the Doheny tee shirts. THANK YOU - you make me a happy man. We had a good time onstage - played Dust again (the acoustic song which I love, and which we have dropped from the last few shows) and felt a good energy between us. Robert Knight came down and shot the band (check out the Doheny Pics 2 link) and we have another shoot with him tonight - this time in his studio. He is a great photographer and I cant wait to see what he does with us.

I'm off to have a snooze.

METAL MAYHEM
Good morning everyone. I feel rested and ready to go after a day of no emails or cellphones, and lying on my bed watching Sunday evening movies. Oh yeah, and playing Grand Theft Auto, San Andreas. That game is just plain wrong!!! I mean, I'm playing it and loving it, but how do they get away with that shit? I mean, the idea of the game is to steal cars, shoot rival gang members, and tear unsuspecting women from their cars and club them to death. Very serene - very loving.......BRILLIANT game!!!
Again, The Raiders put on a show of classic football - how to lose in the most dramatic way possible!! Oh my god - pull it together guys, its just embarrassing now.
Today is Doheny at The Roxy day. We go onstage at 11.30pm - yeah, its a late one - but I'm looking forward to it nonetheless. Its $8 if you download the flyer from our main site - www.dohenymusic.com.
The pic today is Jon and I at Courtney's Halloween show on Saturday. The esteemed Rev.J.S.Clayden, and the slightly dodgy looking Funeral Director Morrison!!!
