TRAGIC DEFENSE
The Texans stomped the Raiders yesterday 30-17, and if Oakland don't do something about their defense, they are going to suffer a lot more this season. We play the Colts next week, and we go into it 2 and 2.....COME ON Oakland.....Sort it out!!!
OK - thats my emotional outburst out of the way! The 'best gig' question brought back some great memories huh? I was remembering a bunch of shows while I was reading all the posts this morning, and that was the idea. I think a really great show leaves us with certain emotions and feelings that never leave us, and its fun to remember those once in a while. And some of you have seen some amazing ones. I was even suprised and humbled to see Holly put Camp Freddy in the mix, with last years Roseland show, and Flamingheart put Doheny in with the Cardboard Vampyres Roxy show.
Colleen - Thank you so much for the kind words about Evergreen. We have done three songs with Scott Humphrey that we love, and the idea now is to use those tracks to get a deal, so that we can afford to make the rest of the album! Lets hope the labels like it as much as you do.
Karen - I wish I had seen the original New York Dolls, back in 76 in NYC - (Louise - I am VERY jealous!!). And The Rolling Stones in around 72 would have been pretty cool as well!! And finally, The Velvet Underground, live at Max's in 1969 would have been THE show for me. I would have been a little young to get in though!!
Abby - You're welcome for the tix. Glad you got through. I didnt actually know we were speaking to you...did you say who you were? Anyway, enjoy the show.
Freak - You're welcome. I mean what I say - the 6767 community is changing the way things are done, and I am very impressed with everyone. That was my inspiration to see what kind of Doheny community I could build here. Keep it up guys.
Julia - Now THAT is some funny shit!! Level of fame = somewhat!!! I would actually have put "Negligible"! But what is funny to me is that there is a website that actually measures someones 'level of fame'!! I love the internet.
Ylais - I have less piercings now than I used to have. At one time I had over twenty five - cant quite remember. These days, its just the ones that I really like. And my fave hair color was that blue color from Saturdays picture - but it is a bitch to keep it really blue. One wash and you've got faded green!!
And my worst show would have to be Siouxie And The Banshees at the Futurama Festival in Leeds, around 1980. I never actually saw the Banshees, cos I was busy getting my head kicked in by a bunch of skinheads!!
Two weeks to go until Doheny get out and play again. I cannot WAIT!! I have missed playing shows. And immediately after the two Orgy dates on 15th and 16th, I go to NYC with Freddy, so its going to get busy and exciting real soon. I've had enough recording studios.....time to get out there.
Have a great week and see you here real soon. Thank you all for helping build the Doheny Family. What do we call ourselves? The 6767 crew are Panic Agents........we need a name.......I like The Family (very Godfather!!)
Peace
Billy

You should be proud with being "somewhat" famous, that's the same as Brian May!! Not very accurate, obviously.
I think The Family would be a good one, because that's what this thing feels like. I'm not good of thinking up names, but i'll give it a go...

Billy,
I like "The Family" as well, that has kinda been the unofficial name of the large community over at 6767. I will put my thinking cap on and see if I can come up with a name. I probally missed this in the very early posts but where did the band name come from? That would definatly help me get the wheels turning.
Pony
BTW... when can we expect the Billy Morrison biography? All my favorite musicians seem to be writing them. Call up Neil he seems to be doing a good job. MUCH LOVE!

I LOVE the picture today!! :-) Red is a color with a lot of attitude, and your t-shirts fits perfectly!
Is red your fav color? Check out this site:
http://www.red.com/. Red is my fav color and I wanted to buy this domain, but someone else had the same idea...
"The Family" sounds good, and I think it fits.

Pony, Doheny is a street name in LA. Doheny Drive intersects with Santa Monica Blvd.
Was it because of recording studios? Lmao, I just looked up "recording studios, Doheny, LA, CA". There are so many in that area coming up on Mapquest! :O

Sorry folks, my brain is woolly today, the after wedding thing.
I know full well that Billy wrote on here already about the name, somewhere...it's somewhere in my brain...hunting around the attic up there.
Billy~great photo today, love the background colour, and the attitude! :D Made me laugh.
"The Family" is great. Funny, though because I sort of think of you guys as family via Camp Freddy/6767 and Pony and FreAk too.
I have noticed lately that we aren't using 'family" or "mi familia" like we used to on 6767...I won't even begin analysing that. I have a rule on myself to stop analysing things. :D It's been there a while so I'm becoming quite successful at it.
Aw poor Billy! Those skinheads! What a shite concert.
Odd, my worst one was Siouxsie and the Banshees too, I love them, so I felt a little odd saying that. I think they may have left the stage early because of fights when I went O.o
So where are your current earpiecings then Billy? :D
Oh, and what went on with CF on Saturday? I missed it because of the wedding I was at. I keep hearing things about women at my space being mentioned.
Love Lisa

"The Family" makes me think of Charlie Manson. LOL.

How about The Doheny Dolls then? :D It was that NY Dolls thing, that made me do it.

Karen...that's funny, I had done the same thing one night trying to look at all of the different colors...try this one
LOL

Abby, Yeah, I've been to purple.com. ;-) It's an interesting site.

We are more like "The Freaks" (in a very good way)...Or maybe it's just me...Anyway, I didn't even find Ian Astbury on that website that has "level of fame". And speaking of "the Family" or Freaks...we should have some kind of Doheny Family album, no? I know some of us have photos with various band members (I have some with you, Billy). But it might be cool to see what everyone looks like. Just an idea.

What up Billy! What up "fam" I hope the labels wake up bro, original music/bands are needed!!! My sister *chickbassplayer* used to jam with Sean back in the day in MD/DC area. It's so ironic that thru Dave I found u's, so she was able to contact Sean again. Awesome!! We would LOVE to come see u's gig....one of these days on this east coast!! My dream show is... Doheny/Camp Freddy/The Panic Channel ") Take care, Peace n' luv

heya gang, hope everyone is having a good day. Didn't answer the last question from you billy, as at my ripe old age *laugh* I've only been to 2 concerts and one I was in the bathroom sick 3/4 of it. I did manage to get through the other one, a celtic concert (love celtic music) though. See I have claustrophobia, and though I do manage it for the most part, there are just some times it gets the best of me. The more people there are the worst it is. Let's just say you don't *EVER* want to get stuck in an elevator with me. LOL
Anyhoo, I agree with above, I hope the record execs bring their ears and listen for a change instead of some of the crap that's out there. You guys are really good and your songs are excellent and in my opinion, deserve a contract more than some I could name. ;)
If we're the family, are we going to bicker like all families do?
Well I best get to work before my boss comes in and sees me posting.
Mar sin leat...

What about Family of Freaks. It combines the best of both worlds.
Billy, which is your fav. tattoo?

I also did a search for Ian Astbury on that one site, the link that Julia gave us. I came up with Ian Dury, I didn't know he died. I was just listening to his music about a month ago. Does anyone else know who he is?

I also did not answer the last question... didn't get there in time. So I'll take my cue from Tina and answer it now. I have been to a lot of memorable concerts... but I rarely go to concerts now. I can't think of one that was more memorable than the others really. I did see Stevie Ray Vaughn 4 times, and Eric Clapton once. I went to a lot of Grateful Dead shows, man they were fun. The time I saw Pitchshifter at the Nile in Mesa was very memorable because I got to meet JS. OH, I saw The Toadies a few times at the same venue... they were AWESOME. Lollapalooza 91 & 92. I saw Cake at the Celebrity Theater in Phoenix, they were excellent. Rage against the Machine at Compton Terrace was good.
I went to some concerts when I was young, like AC/DC, Blue Oyster Cult and Black Sabbath, but honestly, I don't remember a lot about them. Ah, misspent youth.
The first concert I ever went to was the Doobie Brothers (ha ha!). It cost $8. The last concert I went to was Ozzfest, which I took my teenagers to see (approx $30 each).
Yeah, I'm old.

Hey Billy,
Just wanted to say you'll be here in spirit when I start the Shifter shows tommorow in Portsmouth. I'll be wearing the ltd editiong Doheny shirt ... see if Jon notices!
I'll also be video taping my experience which will hopefully make for something interesting to watch when I've put it all together.
Give my regards to the rest of the band while Jon's away (for what it's worth), keep healthy and have fun, always :)
