SCARY MOVIE (S)

BillysoloWow - lots of comments to read when I checked the Blog today. The community is growing here, people. And the whole TV thing was great - you all watch so much of the same stuff that I do - and all the UK programs made me remember the great television in England. But the good stuff makes it over here in the end on BBC America. I kept thinking about a song that you should all check out, by The Disposable Heros Of Hiphoprisy. Its called Televison. Check out these lyrics:-".......Television. The drug of the nation. Breeding Ignorance and feeding radiation.....TV is the reason why less than 10% of our nation reads books daily, why most people think Central America means Kansas, Socialism means un-American, and Apartheid is a new headache remedy......." A VERY cool song.

Anyway - lots of stuff going on. Some really cool shows are getting arranged for Doheny. I cant say just yet, but we should be getting 100% confirmation soon. If it all works out, the end of the year should be fun.

Any of you like scary movies? Looks like two good ones come out this weekend - Saw, and The Grudge (although I'm interested to see Buffy the Vampire Slayer acting all scared in The Grudge!!) I love a good horror flick - it awakens that dark side of me for a couple of hours!! Did any of you see Rob Zombies House Of 1000 Corpses? I loved it - total Texas Chainsaw, but also very Zombie. What was your scariest movie ever? Did you see The Ring? That freaked me out!

OK - I dont have a lot for you today - I have a day of working at home, phonecalls etc, and I intend to make the most of it. Tomorrow, I am back up to the ChopShop with Scott Humphrey, working on T.Lee's stuff, and then I have an evening rehearsal with Doheny. Have a great day everyone, and see you tomorrow. Julia's pic is up in the gallery (nice one Julia - now Lisa doesnt feel so alone in there. More gallery pics guys!!) and todays pic is from the Stimulator days. One of my favourite shots, and from an amazing show we did in London.

Peace

Billy

The ring didn't really get to me for some reason. Probally because I had heard alot about it before i saw it. It was a definat mind fuck though.

I do like a good scary movie but only with my girlfriend that way she can curl up next to me. I always get a bunch of brownie points for that.

I am excited to hear about the upcoming shows? Any hope they are a bit more east... and no I don't mean NYC they always get shows! COME ON DENVER!!!!

Have an awesome day, and keep rocking the free world.

I like scary movies... but the psychological thrillers, not the slasher flicks. My favorites I guess are "The Others", "Sixth Sense", "Signs", "The Ring", "The Silence of the Lambs" and "The Village".

I will HAVE to see "The Grudge" I think. It is also based on a Japanese movie, much like "The Ring". They really come up with some creative and interesting stories in Japan. Some of the best kids' movies are the Japanese cartoons like "My Neighbor Totoro" and "Spirited Away". I have those on DVD. More for me than for the kids though, LOL.

Kick ass Lisa!! And Happy Birthday to you!!! Although I didn't do something as cool as play the guitar today, I did write another song on the piano today. Glad I had the mp3 recorder on!!! As for scary movies--I am not really scared by any. I mean, I remember laughing at "The Silence of the Lambs"....until I read about Ed Gein and Gary Heidnik!! I find the true stories to be scarier. I remember being horrified when I saw the film "The Magdalene Sisters" to believe something so cruel and horrific could happen. I have to go get ready for my grad school entrance exam!!!

'Red Dragon' I thought was probably the best of the Lecter series...just great to see an actor like Edward Norton keep pace with Anthony Hopkins was pretty amazing...

I did post another little art thing I did on the board...hope you guys have a sense of humor...

Working on a few more wallpapers before I ready the logo idea I have...

I'll keep you posted...

I agree Julia, the true stories ARE scarier. I guess that's why I read a lot of true crime, it's really scary! I remember reading a book, "Signature Killers" by Robert Keppel. I don't think I got through three chapters before I had to put it away for a while because the writer kind of went into the killers' "heads"... and it was a really, really stark and frightening place to be.

i hafta say, 28 days later is one of the best movies i've ever seen. i was scared shitless for a few days. every time i watch it, even though i know what's coming, i still get nervous towards the end.

and house of 1000 corpses was just plain badass. i went to that one on opening night.

ooooohhhhh I wish I could make it to the shows this weekend.... *sigh* oh well....just have to wait until November...

I don't watch as many scary movies as I used to, the last scary movie I went to was The Secret Window. Stephen King movies are just amazing. I also liked Signs, not only for the movie, but my favorite actor was in it too, Mel Gibson. :-)

OK, my favorite scary movie is (still) Children of the Corn. It was very scary when I was twelve. I recently watched it and wasn't all that scared BUT I do get a little chill whenever I see a corn field in a remote place. I know, pathetic...28 days later was pretty good.

I don't watch too many scary movies. My imagination gets the better of me if I do.
The Blair Witch Project had me jittery for months.. and the mother of all scary fliks.. The Exorcist. Not the whole thing, just the part when her head spins around backwards.. that's it for me.. sends me running from the room every time.
