NORMAL SERVICE IS RESUMED
Monday morning and its back to Doheny business. For those of you interested in seeing some pics from last weeks Camp Freddy action, there will be a CF site upgrade later in the week with a bunch of cool pics from the shows. And I am trying to get a clip of the Lou Reed stuff edited so we can have an mpeg of that genius moment up here for you all to see. Right now, though, its Doheny rehearsals this week. We intend to work these new songs into the set - at least one should make it into the Roxy set next monday.
The main news is the announcement of our December 2nd show with The Panic Channel and The Tints. It will be at The Key Club in Hollywood, on Sunset Blvd, and thanks to the good people at Indie 103.1 it will be just $1.03 to get in. The catch? You need to bring a can of food with you to help feed those less fortunate, care of the LA Mission. So you get to come and see Doheny, AND Dave's brilliant new band, AND The Tints......AND you get to help another person in the process. What a genius night......we are all looking forward to it. Make your plans now, as the show will be VERY full.
More great art is up in Your Artwork 3 - keep it coming folks, I love to see what you are all capable of doing. And its great to see some of you using the chat room. Thats what its there for - get to know each other - hang out - waste time!!
I will be making some upgrades to my equipment this week. Los Angeles amplifier guru, Bob Bradshaw (who built my current rig for me) will be applying his magic touch to my system and making a few tweaks and changes. I am very excited as every time he does anything for me, it just all sounds so much better. Hopefully we will have it done for the Roxy show. If not - for sure by Dec 2nd.
Gotta run - I have a bunch of meetings this morning before rehearsal. Take care and have a great day.
Peace
Billy

Billy, I am excited to see you guys play with Dave's new band, I will clear my schedule for that one. I have never checked out a Doheny show before so I am definetly excited to see you guys rock out. A quick question....how was it playing with Monster Magnet when you toured with them with The CULT?

Monster Magnet? I know those guys! Or I should say I knew them
a few years ago. Whoa. Okay..I keep hearing things, and they're all linking together. I have guest over so I'll be back later.
If you're wondering I lived for ages near them, and where they used to play. And I bought my CDs in a store where the drummer of the band that use to open for them worked, and got friendly with her. Yeah, a woman drumming! :D
Billy, can't wait to see the pics, mpeg, etc.
Kind of grumpy I'll miss the LA show on Dec 2nd.
:(

Speaking of drummers..isn't Flea's daughter the drummer in the Tints? I remember them from the CFR show. :D

YLais-Small world. I grew up in Point Pleasant, NJ. My best friend's Tattoo artist was named Schwaggert (Played in a band named Daisy Cutter- they had drop dead hot women playing guitar for them) used to open up for them/live next to those guys who lived in Red Bank NJ. I remember seeing MM play sooo many times. The first time I ever saw them was at the Stone Pony. I was going to the men's room and I heard a "whoooish sound.) I looked over a Dave W was doing whippets in the bathroom stall. Then he walked right on to the stage and rocked out. Crazy. Do you remember when he would just toss his guitar in the audience and it would float around with endless feedback and delay going? Wow what a small world. My good friend had Phil C over at his house in Toms River but that another story for another day...Wow small world.

OMG! Yes. I saw them at The Stone Pony too.
My best friend at the time lived in Point Pleasant. I think she went to High School there. I even think I know which Tattoo artist you are talking about!
Thanks for reminding me about Daisy Cutter too. I was trying to think of them. Almost phoned my ex to ask! Oo He's still in NJ.
I remember MM night there really well. I was right at the front dancing my ass off. I loved them! I mean they really rocked.
Bumped into them in the parking lot later, not planned, and I had to keep telling them how great they were, etc. :D Lmao. They were out of it, I don't even think they knew what I was saying! :D
My brain is trying to recall all the other ppls names, but it's weird when I am in the UK, it's tough recalling even my old address.
Used to buy records and CDs at Vintage Vinyl on Route 35.
I lived in Fair Haven, my back yard was Red Bank. But had moved to Ocean Grove.
I can see we're going to be hearing more about all this! Wow!
Great to meet you. Maybe I already have at sometime!

My memory is starting to come back.

Dave Wyndorf is amazing, a true rock star.
You gotta have a Wyndorf story Billy, I know they didn't last long on The Cult tour (Dave blew out a knee) but any recollection of the Space Lord would be cool.
Thanks,
Jay

hey everyone,
Billy can't wait for The Roxy gig. Can you tell us if the flyer works only at the door? also for the Dec. 2nd show can the tickets for that show be purchased? or do yoyu have to win them from indie 103.1.

I better add to that MM story; I was pretty drunk myself, and those guys were just way laid back and friendly as far as my drunken memory goes.

You know what's funny though. Dave W. wasn't a "rock star" back then.

Arg....I am totally sick today. I hope I don't breathe on anyone in here. And thanks Heidi and Tina for introducing me to myspace...since yesterday I got 50-some requests from people to be my "friend" (meaning many men over 30 and one special one over 50 and actually a couple of bi girls...Never knew I could be so popular.) Well, time to go back into my stupor...
