BLING BLING

BillypianoaltMorning all. After the nastiness that is the RedEye flight from LA to New York, we are finally in the swing of it all here. Yesterday was a busy day - went to J.Lindeberg who dressed us for the Red Carpet - picked up a killer suit, and a shirt to go with it. And I paid the nice people at Gibson Guitars a visit, had a look around at all the amazing guitars they have there, and picked up my two guitars for this show. While I was there, I got to play the $400,000 Liberace Grand Piano!! The thing is the most ostentatious instrument I have ever seen!! Check out the pic! And I also played the dubious-looking Hummer Les Paul. Not sure exactly who would play that thing, but its ......"interesting!!" The set-up department have made my CF Custom and my 1960 Gold Top play beautifully, and I wanna give Shanon a big shout out for being such a gracious host.

Last night, we all went for dinner at Vela - a fantastic Sushi restaurant in the East Village, and then on to Snitch (the newest Rock and Roll club in Manhatten, owned by my friend Brett Scallions from Fuel, and Duff and Scott from Velvet Revolver). The club is great - cool music, chicks dancing on the bar, a stage with equipment (in case the visiting muso's wanna get up and play) - thank you Brett.....a good night out.

Today is rehearsal day - I'm gonna get a cab uptown and do a bit of retail therapy first (some amazing Nike Dunks here if you know where to look!) and then meet the rest of the guys at 2.00pm. Gotta dash - coffee to drink, cigs to smoke, and sneakers to buy. Thank you for all your kind words about the chat - it really was fun, huh? And the less said about the Raiders, the better. Cantrell told me last night that the Seattle Seahawks just bought Jerry Rice yesterday......thats all we needed. I'm bummed. And outta here......
Peace

Billy

I hope you took an extra suitcase for all that 'retail therapy' to come home with you....

With all those shoes, are you needing to turn a room in your house into 'The Shoe Room' yet? LOL

Hi everyone!

You know who else collects sneakers (or trainers) David Beckham. Then again, he gets most of them free for sponsorship.
The dumb stuff I know.
I knew that was a Liberace piano right away. Good eh? My Nan loved Liberace, and I grew up with him on the telly.

I LOVE that photo Billy, so funny you all punk rock looking. (real punk! :P) A camouflage blazer in front of the glitz and shine. I like your style.

Sounds like you're having great fun in NYC. I've developed a sudden yearning for the place, and sushi.

Thank you for thinking of us all here and posting. So cute! :D
Good reading too.

Billy~Where do you store you sneakers? or do you display them like sculpture?
Are you growing your hair long?
Can you please please recommend what less expensive Gibson Les Paul to get for rock? I'm drooling over all of them. Is buying new better than vintage/used? I'm hearing all conflicting stories.

Thank you, Lisa xxxx

I've been choosing songs I want to learn with my guitar teacher, and while I was doing that, I kept thinking, ooo maybe that's good for Doheny! :D

I Love Faith No More, and I'd love to hear you guys do their "Midlife Crisis". Okay, well I had a long list, but I don't wanna hog the blog.

Love Lisa

Billy.. that piano is totally awesome.. though I do want to see the Hummer Les Paul. I was out to see Whitepony a couple weekends ago and "loaned" him my Gothic Explorer.. I still have my Gothic Les Paul here in TO.. it is the sweetest beast I have ever seen.. now just to get back to playing it again.

Peace and Respect, to Billy et al.

Wow...I would love to sit down and play that cool piano. Cool pic too! Maybe you can put up a pic of yourself in the new suit! I also can't wait for CFR this weekend. Sounds like it's going to be a good show, especially with Billy Duffy. We need to get him into the chat too! That would be pretty interesting...I mean, we've got to get the Tour of Two Billys going, right? And speaking of music, what's with the music they play at the casinos? I swear I heard them play "The Final Countdown" and "Desperate But Not Serious"...weird...Of course, I was a little bit tipsy...

They played Adam Ant's "Desperate but not Serious"? In the casino. :O
Coincidence..I was thinking earlier, dare Doheny do any Adam and the Ants? :D
