CF REHEARSALS

Billy_pose_colorI wanted to get a post in tonight, as I will be up and outta here early tomorrow. The Camp Freddy experience takes a trip to Anaheim tomorrow for a private birthday party (private - so unfortunately, no general admission on this one) and I just got in from our usual, one-day, cram-it-in style rehearsal. I have to say that I am excited by this show. The line up is rocking. Courtney Love is doing a couple of songs with us, and she was great today - killed Iggy's Search And Destroy! And Scott Weiland is also making his CF debut with us tomorrow - and it was so much fun running through the songs with him today. I'll post all about the show on Sunday. Maybe I should try and be techno-boy with my phone and post a quickie from the dressing room before we go on! Get Dave, Matt, Chris and Dono to type a quick hi to you all. Whaddya think?)

Wow! I love that more people are posting responses on the blog now. I feel a sense of community happening and I love it. And I also feel a lot better about my collection fetish!! Holly has her antique maps (by the way, Holly - I do know that band Stimulator. The singer asked me if I was going to take em to court for using the name!! I said "Take it - I'm not using it!!). Julia, Flaming Heart and Jay have The Cult collections (Jay - NOW is the time to start the Doheny one!!), Karen has her vinyl AND the Garfield thing going on!! D-Wez has the Pitchshifter collection to END all 'shifter collections!! And Abby is rockin' the house with Eeyore.....you all sound just as OCD/Pack Rat as me. Glad to know I'm not alone!

Sandy B (welcome to the site...and enjoy!) and Kim...the whole coming to the UK thing is something I would LOVE to do. I can't wait to get Doheny over there. We must all be patient, cos once we have everything in place, and actually made a record, we will be there like a shot. I would love to pop over and do a few 'shifter shows and hang with you guys and I know Jon would like that too - but during the time that Jon is away in the UK being Mr Shifter, the rest of Doheny will be in the rehearsal studio, beavering away on our songs, and fine-tuning stuff for when Jon gets back. He arrives back in LA two days before the Orgy shows, so we will make sure we are tight and rocking by that time. Plus I believe that CF have to go to NYC for a day to do Carson Daley again, but I'm not sure.

I am completely wasted - so tired. So I am going to say goodnight to all. It really makes my day to read all your posts. Have a great weekend, and a huge thank you to everyone who is paying this blog a regular visit. We welcome you ALL!!!

Billy

And speaking of CF and NYC. Damn you Vanity Fair gig {{shakes fist in the air}} for scheduling the CF gig on a Thursday night when I'm a few hundred miles away and need to be in work on Friday! Why why why can't this be a Saturday night gig???

What time do you go on? Okay. I'm there.

Say it isn't so! Scott Weiland singing with CF?!?! and it's a PRIVATE party?!?!

(runs off to find bridge to jump off of)

sigh.... ok...too lazy to run all the way to the bridge...I'll just sit here and cry in my drink instead...LOL

Take pictures!! Send us a message from the show!! HAVE FUN!!

It's all good Billy - no rest for the wicked after all :)

Scott Weiland would be a fantastic guest and I hope the CF show is blinding.

You should opt to support Velvet Revolver next time they tour the UK. How much fun would that be!? :)

I think it's great a community is building like this in the early stages of a band like Doheny, because it shows a genuine interest in what the band's doing and what you're all about, where as if this was a blog for a huge global band like Metallica (for example), the number of people who would join 'just because' would be overwhelming and sincere fans would get lost in the shuffle amongst those who simply want to say they've interacted with someone famous (the age of celeb and fame seeking we seemd to be in).

Ramble over - have fun, keep rocking :)

Billy,

Just wondering, but who the hell's birthday
is being celebrated tonight? Leno and Robin Williams doing stand up, CF and all that encompasses providing the tunes? Fuck!

My birthday's next Friday and I'll be lucky if someone doesn't make fun of me in my leather pants for cryin' out loud...

Thanks,
Jay

Kim, you've expressed my worst fear! I've been friends with a few bands before they hit and it SUCKS when they do. Not that they didn't try to keep in touch with their friends but the demands on their time is just incredible, even when they're still in town before touring. And the fans! You do feel a certain "protectivness" when it comes down to it and the whole world is pushing and shoving to get a piece of them. But...that's what they dream and starve and bust their ass for. And that's what makes this so great, that we can get to know these guys a bit before all that happens and watch them go on to great success. Still, I rarely miss a Doheny show and it kills me when I do, so I know I'm gonna hate it when they're playing all over the place and I can't be there!!! I'm greedy, I know - I want them all to myself!

Sounds like an amazing show...I wish it were my birthday. Anyway...I saw the Vanity Fair ad while browsing through the magazine. It was cool to think that there was our Billy in a national magazine, as I sipped my ultra strong French roast coffee...thus adding to the fact that I had not fasted today like the holiday intends...Ooops...I'm sorry, but I am sure Billy can attest to this, but one NEEDS coffee to function properly. And I just erased this long post I was going to write and decided better of it because it was just too weird. I didn't even add the fact that I had a weird dream with Billy in it...The lack of substantial food today has obviously taken a toll on my mental clarity so I will spare the part of the post I was going to write about the parody I did of "Part of Your World" from the Little Mermaid, which I changed to "Part of Your Church"...don't ask how that was going to end up in my post. Which reminds me of my roommate from college--we used to make up stupid songs together. She was also obsessed with Hello Kitty--she collected all kinds of crap. I grew to despise the Japanese feline...except for the Hello Kitty toaster which imprinted the Hello Kitty face onto the bread....See..take my food away and I am a complete rambling food...

Julia~Hello Kitty! lmao. I remembered after I posted that I have loads of Hello Kitty stuff. I used to collect it, but then it got so big, I mean everything had Hello Kitty on it, even cars and grand pianos, when Harrod's got into it. So I gave up. I mean no way was it going to be complete. I use my Hello Kitty bags though, I mean I am using one right now. It's always near me; so I guess I don't look upon it as a collection any longer. It was Snoopy years ago, when they had all those tiny pencils, and pens in the 70's, then Hello Kitty took over from that. So I love little packages of pens and pencils and crayons. I'm a weirdo! :P I like the packaging! I've got 2 boxes of X-men comics, and X-Men cards in folders. Just don't do it anymore! So I didn't count it. I think I had way too many going on at once there too. (drums, native american, classic pooh, clothes..) Must focus. must focus. :P

Billy~love how this blog is interactive, with the games for us, asking questions to people on here!
have a great time tonight.
Love

Hey~I just know it's their b-days, I don't know who the private party is for, or where. Thought I'd better clear that up. Being in Wales, well Jones is somewhat of a treasure to Wales you see. ;)
